It was fine

The property has a great location just outside of the very busy town. The staff were outstanding at helping us with arranging covid test for flying, a bus to the airport the next day and renting e bikes. Our room had an incredible view too!

Some ‘added extras’ were missing due to Covid - such as offering food at the property. This didn’t impact our stay however.

very clean and organized. it was close enough to town but just far outside that it felt like you were in the country. the best front desk staff ever. extremely helpful and accommodating and willing to go the extra mile. I highly recommend staying here for anyone coming to Yangshuo

Sudder house is on a quiet street off the main road towards the west street (XiJie). It’s clean and really comfortable. The room was perfectly sized and had everything I needed (shampoo conditioner blow drier and water kettle). They offer free toothbrushes and toothpaste and will provide you with anything you need if they have it. The staff is super helpful and very kind! They have bikes and scooters, but if they run out, they will send someone to bring you one from a different shop. The pool at sudder house is so nice and a really good spot for pictures. Overall an amazing stay (2nd time). I’ve been solo and with friends and both times have had the most relaxing and consistently excellent stay here. 10/10 recommend!

The location is great, not far from downtown but far enough to have a peaceful night far from noise and city lights. The lounge, patio and pool area is very nice and comfortable. It’s very clean all around

was in Yangshaw for the first time, opted for this Guest House and was not mistaken. Excellent friendly and helpful staff will prompt, help and attentive to requests. Cozy rooms, nothing superfluous. Well, of course, I cannot but mention the pool, but it is not huge, but quite deep, and gives a wonderful coolness after a hot day) Five Stars, I will come back here again)

I have stayed at Sudder Street for a total of two weeks, the first week with friends and then extended by one more week when some of my friends were going to Sanya instead. I decided that I prefer to enjoy SudderStreet and Yangshuo for one more week. I have stayed in a private room with a view, a really great view from the balcony! The room is simply furnished but very nice design, as the whole place, combination of modern and nature(bamboo) with historic(old wooden pieces) and industrial (concrete). Really nice! AND very convenient. Of course, it is not a 5-star hotel, so if somebody is looking for such - it is not the place. But it is really nice place, where I felt very comfortable and happy for whole my stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful, speaking very good English. All facilities at the place are well described, and all info is always bilingual. I really enjoyed the pool with a great view, enjoyed meet other travellers, all in all, atmosphere is very friendly and I think kudos go largely to SudderStreet. Some technicalities: 1. Very comfy bed, good room size, great balcony (if you have one) handy bathroom 2. Possibility to use kitchen/refrigerator 3. Soft drinks and beer available 24 h from the fridge - at the supermarket prices 4. Washing machines - free + washing powder (I used it 3 times - so hot you need to refresh your wardrobe) 5. Possibility to order for or any SF or JD 6. Renting bikes at a place - 10 RMB during day, free after 5 pm In a summary - if I will have the possibility to visit Yangshuo again (I hope so- it's great) I will 100% want to stay at Sudder Street.

Maybe one could check on bikes, and on the kitchen tools (microwave) clenelles

Helpful, friendly staff. Clean rooms. Cheap scooter rental. Pool with an amazing view. A fridge well stocked with beers. I could go on and on. The best hostel I've ever stayed in in China, perhaps in the world. Thanks for an awesome stay!

I like the staff of the hostel, they were friendly, helpful and open. I like the size of the bed in Female dormitory.

I didn’t like the bathroom at the 5th floor. They weren’t cleaned, without proper ventilation, so there were some mucus on the wall, and a lot of insects. The hostel itself looks old and used, the furnitures were tacky, I’d really advise to change the closet in the rooms and add a mirror.

Great staff, comfortable rooms and ability to rent scooters / order food direct to your room from outside the guesthouse. Great outside area to relax in / have a dip in the pool.

Being on the 5th floor with no elevator

This hostel had an incredibly helpful staff that were friendly and so diligent about keeping everything clean and monitoring temperatures during Covid. They reminded other staff members to assist you with your your arrangements before any employee left for a shift. There are a variety of useful free amenities and the location right outside the main town area has a great vibe. We loved our stay and are planning to return.

We loved this property it’s a great value for the money.

Very cheap moped rental to explore the amazing mountain roads. The staff went above and beyond to help us in any way we needed. The room and the bed was very comfy and the price was brilliant.

There is nothing that we didn't like, we have been to Yanshuo three times and stayed here every time. Never had one complaint about it.

The stuff was amazingly friendly, the rooms were very clean, the bed was very comfortable. They even have recycling trash bags in the lobby where they separate glas and plastic bottles and cans. Really nice place!

Excellent value and location

Staff are friendly and helpful, we initially booked for 4nights but they reimbursed us for 3 nights after we decided to only stay for one night. Which is a pretty decent thing to do. Though the place needs a revamp but in general for what you're paying, it's not too bad.

Stone the manager is most helpful & knowledgeable. Place is clean and accessible to local foods and restaurants though dead after 9pm. Queen room is spacious as is toilet. Balcony has mountain views. Good Wi-Fi. Great lobby decor & hangout area and backyard. Bike is good and cheap, so makes it easy to explore surrounding areas. About 25 -30 mins walk to West Street, the central part of town. Not far from LiJiang river on bike. Not far from Shii Dong Men Jetty to buy tickets for 5 hrs river cruise (¥216) northwards towards Guilins. Very worth if day is sunny. Boarding jetty is a 20 mins.walk away at the other end during non peak season at LongTouShan. Go early as walk is lovely.

Bench in room too narrow. Had to pay for extra pillows. Would like more wall hangers and a mini sofa since spacious. No TV in room. In the late morning, & late afternoon, can be a little noisy due Middle school nearby. Quiet at night though.

2nd time this year that I stayed at Sudder street. As with the previous experience it is an incredible place. Few new eateries down the road plus the old good ones. Free laundry is a big bonus and the place is clean. Staff is super friendly and well informed. Beverage fridge is well stocked with a good variety. Booking tours with the reception is cheaper than you will find anywhere else. Spend some time on the roof to admire the views in all directions. It's a very easy place to find and just outside the tourist trap centre of West street. Good for walking around as there are street vendors up and down the street selling various fresh foods if you want to cook in the well equipped hostel kitchen. Note the cleavers are very sharp and be careful. Will be back again, and again, and again.

We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. I loved the mountain view from the balcony. The room was big and clean with comfortable bed. Bathroom also big with great shower. Bikes and electric scooters are available for rent, hats to borrow, guests can use the kitchen and do their laundry. There's a Cafeteria next door selling delicious breakfast, cakes, coffee, juice... Staff is very helpful, answered all our questions. I recommend this place.
