Central, big common area, nice terrace, nice rooms
Walls very thin, towels not clean (washed but had stains)
8.0
The common areas, lots of space
The room and the bathroom were nice comfortable and clean
The kitchen is nice and also very big
Kind staff
Located near the center
The only thing was the fridge: it was pretty dirty (looks like there's a lot of leftovers, and nobody cleans up).
Also be aware that you have to put your name on every single thing you leave in the fridge, otherwise someone eats it right away (it happened to us)

The area where you could sit outside.
It’s extremely windy and very cold in the evenings. And the wind is very loud. Fortunately you can ask for more sheets!
You are relatively “far” away from the town, which means that if its so windy, you are unlikely to go out in the evening. Closeby there is not much to do.
6.0
the view
it wasn't clean, the bed was uncomfortable, plumber issues, they doesn't give you the towels at the begging of your checking and there were troubles with the total amount of the booking

It’s very beautiful and has a very nice terrasse for observing the sunset. The kitchen is well equipped and they have amazing pancakes for breakfast. I just stayed for 2 nights but it was a good choice.
In the nights it was very windy and unfortunately that was extremely loud in the dorms so no one could sleep well.

Breakfast is included and good, there is a nice common room and some outdoor area to hang out
it was very windy and the rooms were not well isolated, you could feel the wind going through the room

the deck to watch the sunset was beautiful and nice outdoor benches on balconies, area to do yoga. the free breakfast was great
everyday I was there one of the members of staff would go into bedrooms rooms without knocking multiple times a day to find people to pay/ask if a car was theirs etc. coming up to people also in the common areas. it just felt like there was no privacy and also felt on edge like I was doing something wrong when I was repeatedly asked if I was "x" name. unsure of how often/throughly the bathroom was cleaned also.

The property is really close to Monteverde, with shuttles and tour recommendations for the guests. It’s quiet and peaceful, with great facilities and friendly staff.

Hostel La Suerte has a real backpacking feel: it is rustic, fun travellers and common spaces and a great view. With this type of hostel, I feel like you get what you pay for. It is very basic, but clean, and you can't expect to have any great amenities. The location is a 5-minute walk to the small town Santa Elena which is great! Breakfast was offered in the morning which was delicious!
There was no hot water in our private bathroom which was a bit annoying to deal with and isn't too uncommon there I don't think (the staff was great about trying to fix it and suggesting alternatives, but it was still a pain). All in all, not a big deal because we could just use another shower but still an inconvenience. It was a bit of a bummer that the front desk could not provide information on where the local bus stopped to go to the cloud forest and we had to figure it out ourselves (the next hostel we stayed at in Santa Elena had all the information ready for us).

The common areas were great, the breakfast was delicious and filling, and the staff was very helpful.

Good location, even better price-quality ratio. Friendly staff with good advises for the area. The rooms are simple but clean. The common kitchen is well equipped and they even have a common livingroom with games and yoga mats.

Charming hostel, friendly staff, great view over the mountains. The breakfast was great - best pancakes in town !

Good kitchen, clean, places to socialize but not a party hostel
Bit out of the center, but just a short walk so not a big problem. Shower is not realllly warm

everyone was really kind and helpful, nice breakfast and new yoga mats
more possibilities to hang and dry clothes would be great

The staff were lovely, the breakfast was cooked to order and was substantial. The common areas were pleasant to sit in, with an outside upper deck that, unfortunately, now mostly looks out onto the extensions to the hostel. It offers comfortable beds, and very hot showers. Tours were efficiently arranged by the staff and the village centre is a 10 minute walk away,
Compared to a similar lodging across the alley, it has a shabby appearance from the outside, and the feel of the dorms/rooms are rather cramped, dark, need sprucing up, and (during the wet season) damp ..no way to circulate the air.

The service was great. We were even allowed to have a shower and use the kitchen after we checked out

Nice staff and location
When they say breakfast is from 7:00-8:30, if you get there after 7:30, you will get a partial breakfast. Several days passed before the trash was taken out of the bathrooms. Gross. I’m not sure why the toilet paper wasn’t restocked every day. I didn’t have hot water until my third day there, because there’s a secret trick to it they didn’t bother to tell me about upon checking in. Reception closes at 9pm, so don’t have an inconvenient emergency or need anything.

Amazing breakfast made by the owner each day, you can choose between pancakes and Gallo pinto.
Kitchen and living room are spacious.
They are friendly and offer a lot of information about tours and transportation.
The location feels like a industrial street, not very cozy feeling, and is 10 min walking to town (didn't bother me).
My dorm was located in the building next door, therefore I had to walk through the rain to get to the common rooms.
Bathrooms are s bit smelly, probably because of the wet&humid climate.

Staff was really nice and welcoming.
The price for the laundry. It was excessive, 4US$/KG. Most expensive laundry of our life. There are no other options in the city, it can even rise to 5US$/kg

Staff was VERY nice and helpful and the communal kitchen had a nice vibe.
We ecpected a nice outdoor place but the property was after a sort of gravel an construction place. Poor wifi.
All in all an OK place to stay

The staff was super nice; the rooms perfectly clean, good positioning and overall a really nice stay

The people and staff here are amazing!! I had amazing chats with Jesús on reception about really interesting topics! Also amazing at helping to book activities and travel - very knowledgeable!!
The rooms are great too and an amazing kitchen! Very sociable and great WiFi
As expected in Costa rica, we found a few bugs in rooms but this was fine.
It is also a 10 min walk to Santa Elena downtown which was fine for us but worth noting

great kitchen

The staff was friendly and there was a big shared kitchen to prep food. We enjoyed the breakfast.
The hostel is pretty worn out all in all, and it can be quite cold inside. The location in Monteverde is good, but Monteverde itself is a bit hard to reach - or to leave. The timetables for buses, shared taxis etc do not really work well, the only option we found was to leave early at 8 in the morning and we missed one day in the Cloud Forest.

beautiful location with horses to see from
the kitchen windows.
the kitchen in the evenings was sometimes a mess but I think that was due to people cooking their own food and not cleaning up. the kitchen was always spotless in the mornings when the hostel was serving breakfast
5.0
the location was good and breakfast was good
the beds were so uncomfortable and they only give you a sheet, all of us in the room were completely freezing. it was very windy that night and I didn’t sleep because of the cold and the noise from the roof.

Nice and cozy hostel in Monteverde with nice common areas to hang out. It has a good atmosphere with very helpful staff! You get a good breakfast in the morning, when I asked it was even prepared a bit earlier just for me before my tour.
My room only had very small lockers and the sink was outside the bathroom just in the room so we woke each other up at night.
