Dit verblijf heeft àlles wat het moet hebben, maar ligt nogal ver weg van het centrum. Zeker als je het traject te voet wil afleggen. In de stad gaan dineren en in het donker te voet terugkeren langs deze weg ... niet aan te raden. Zonder reservatie is er geen lunch/dinner te krijgen. Toch heeft de verantwoordelijke met alle plezier een omelet bereid voor ons.

De ligging ten opzichte van het centrum, ondanks het een uitstekend verblijf is.

The hotel is small with <10 rooms, gated, and centrally located in Butare. Checkin was smooth and dinner was started on soon after. The room was comfortable and the shower decently hot. There was a jet tub on the premises and both indoor and outdoor dining surrounded by a garden. The omelette, toast, and coffee breakfast was delicious. It was surprisingly relaxing, having a beer under the pavilion while working on the laptop.

WiFi had some issues, ended up switching to mobile hotspot. The receiptionist was also the manager as well as the chef :-D. He prepared a delicious salad but left the main course (stewed beef and greens) a little to be desired. I'm not disappointed, just found it a little funny and don't blame the guy.

High-quality furniture, delicious coffee and breakfast, and a beautiful garden.

Warm water was an issue. Even cold water was scarce. On booking.com, the venue was presented as a 4* hotel. However, the facilities were basic, i.e., there was not much there that you would associate with a 4* standard. In particular, there was no restaurant, no bar, no 24-hour front desk, and no pool. Also, the room lacked a fridge or mini-bar as well as a TV. While this would be totally fine in a guesthouse, the facilities did not at all match a 4* category. There were no street lights anywhere near the hotel, which is located at the end of a network of dirt roads. Thus, safety didn't seem great, especially at night.

Great little hotel with good facilities. Newer building, clean bath w hot water, kettle and tea/coffee in room, nice public areas, WiFi and breakfast incl fresh orange juice, friendly staff who were responsive after request incl accompanying to local restaurant.

Location / access off rocky unmarked roads difficult in dark, locals helped but guard at gate was busy w other things, staff didn’t offer assistance w luggage on dark garden stairs until requested.

This charming garden oasis on the outskirts of Huye(Butare) was perfect for our combination of business and touring. It’s a short drive (15min) to the city center of this university town. Most of the rooms face a lovely garden courtyard, where breakfast/meals are served, either in a garden gazebo or on an open patio (covered). The food is delicious, staff is friendly and helpful. Nearby attractions include an excellent ethnographic museum and the king’s palace. Should we return to Huye for further interactions at the university hospital/medical school, we will definitely return.

It was a perfect ,relaxing stay, with a wonderfull breakfast! As a supplement they also cleaned my shoes which are now shining :-) Thankyou for the nice stay, i hope i see you again!
