A small balcony off the kitchen has a lovely view of the lake. Amazing sunsets!
The combo washer/dryer was not much of a dryer.

Nice location, spacious apartment. Great little terrace.
Stairs to the property were steep and as the train was not operational and arriving by ferry, the stairs in the town to get to this property are brutal.

Excellent location in the centre of Varenna, close to restaurants, waterfront and ferry. Very comfortable, good size, well equipped. Lovely view across Lake Como.
As others have noted, the steep steps up from the street were challenging, but we coped.

Location!!! Right in the heart of Varenna.
Very spacious and clean. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were great. Beds and bedrooms were excellent - very comfortable and big. Wardrobes and drawers were also generously proportioned.
Was pleasantly surprised to find that the sofa is a double sofabed.
Lots of natural light upstairs with a really nice view of the lake from the living room / balcony.
Was also very quiet and peaceful even though virtually in the center of town.
Good WiFi, TV , fridge, washing machine, pod coffee machine etc. everything was catered for.
The steps to the apartment are steep and narrow - even for Varenna. This was more noticeable when carrying luggage.
The apartment sleeps 6, but there's really only enough seating (dining, balcony, sofa) for 4 at a time. Even though it's a spacious apartment, with a family of 5 we missed that extra seat when chilling out or eating.

Great stay!
Enjoyed our stay at Casa Manoli for a group of 5 heading to a wedding. Beds were comfortable, including pull-out bed (although very bright in the morning's & church bells might wake you up). As in other reviews, the stairs are very load so be aware of waking your roommates up at night, but wasn't an issue for us.
Location was perfect, right beside the square with a small local shop and lovely bakeries & hotels. Very short walk from the waterfront & other amenities. Great view from the apartment. Staff were very friendly at reception & check out was no problem.
TV you can use to cast from your phone or laptop. Kitchen stocked with the basics.
Not to do with the property, but be aware of city tax to be paid on arrival.
Stairs are loud so be aware if travelling with children & trying not to wake them up.

we had 3 heavy suitcases and 3 carry ons. we had to carry them up 33 steep steps.

This sweet, cozy apartment is very well located and has a beautiful view of the lake with small balcony. It's ideal if you are traveling without a car as it's a short walk from the train station and easy to get around town. The kitchen area was useful and the living area had comfortable furnishings. The apartment was very clean and easy to use. The downstairs area stays quite cool in summer. This is a great apartment.
The upstairs area gets a lot of sun through the large glass windows to the balcony and the air conditioner could not keep up, making the living area quite hot.

Excellent location, close to local shops and restaurants. Comfortable beds, good wifi and fantastic view from the balcony. Host arranged taxi transfer back too which was great.

No breakfast included -- which was fine: in fact it was fun to shop at the little family-run store 25 meters down the street for everything we needed for breakfast [and there is also a bakery just 75 meters further down the street].
Creaky stairs inside: sounds funny or quirky but they creak really loudly, so you're aware of it if you get up during the night or when you go upstairs in the morning while everyone else is still sleeping (i.e. you are going to wake up everyone). The bedrooms are very close to each other downstairs -- rather small, and without much in the way of exterior windows for air circulation etc.

There is an elevator with limited usefulness as you have to walk you stairs to get to the elevator and then it takes you to the lower floor. In fairness if you are challenged by stairs, Varenna may not be the palce to visit.

It’s location to the town square just a short walk and the water

Great location in the heart of Varenna, just minutes from main square and harbor front; pleasant shoreline walk to the ferry terminal, and not much further to the train station (though a taxi is still recommended if you have bags). Unit is split on two levels, with bedrooms below and living/dining room with view of the lake upstairs. Unit is well equipped but only one major appliance can be run at a time which limits usability.
Pre-arrival communication was slow and the check-in process is a bit more involved than most rentals. If arriving by ferry or train, hire a taxi or be prepared for steep streets and lots of stairs to get into the unit (the advertised lift is of limited use). Plan accordingly because the air conditioning cannot be operated at same time as washer, dishwasher, or oven without blowing fuses/breaker. Hot water heater stopped working during visit, and it took several hours - and several very cold showers - before the problem was resolved.
