I had seen these pastel painted cottages on a previous stay at Buckeye Lake.
They catch your eye from the park tucked away in this cove. They are every bit as cute inside as they are outside. The view from the decks are amazing!! It was very quiet and relaxing. I went in November, so it was cooler out, but it stayed nice and warm inside. I'm hoping to get a chance to stay in each one. It was exactly what I was looking for.

I absolutely loved this property! It was awesome to be on Crane Lake with a view of Buckeye Lake. A bonfire in the evenings was a great way to sit by the water and enjoy the stars. Rick is a wonderful host and is so friendly and welcoming! The property was very clean and had everything I needed. Loved the second floor balcony and the view of the water from there. Perfect place to experience fall at Buckeye Lake!

My wife and I got away for a couple of days during the week. Rick, the owner was there to greet us when we checked in and was very knowledgeable and polite about any questions we had. The property is very nice, clean and right on the water. We were able to dock our boat just a few steps away from the house. This would be a great property to get a couple of families together since there are multiple homes here. We will definitely be coming back. Buckeye Lake is awesome.

These cottages are very nice. The property is beautiful and has such nice landscaping. There’s a paddle boat, multiple kayaks and multiple bikes to use during your stay. Richard is on the property and readily available to help you with any needs. We needed to borrow an air pump And he was right there with one for us to use. We also rented a boat that did not rent tubes so Richard even arranged to contact a friend so we could borrow a tube. This is the one thing our kids wanted to do and Richard made it happen. Buckeye Lake has many restaurants with live music. It’s a great little place to go for a getaway.

Cutest lake homes, beautiful view, stunning landscaping, great host, great/convenient location...we will be back ! Would also highly recommend a sunset cruise on the lake with Captain Buck who will pick you up at Cranes Cove...perfect end to a perfect vacation !

Very friendly/helpful owner lives onsite. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous with flowers along the cobblestone sidewalks. Very welcoming. Great location. Bring your boat-you'll have your own dock. The house was beautifully decorated throughout with most items and ingredients already stocked. Three stories with the kitchen/living area on the middle level. First level and third levels have tv, and bathrooms with showers. No restroom on same floor as kitchen, unfortunately. Washer and dryer were super convenient. We truly enjoyed our stay!

The house was clean, comfortable and has beautiful lake views. There were lots of amenities and it was close to boating, bike tails and picnic areas. Our property manager was very kind and helpful. This is truly a gem! Thanks for a great stay!

Rick was the most AMAZING host and his extensive knowledge of the lake and area are fascinating! We absolutely had THE BEST time! His rentals are beautifully decorated and well stocked and we used the paddleboat and kayaks, which was so much fun, too! You are within walking distance of so much (or you could use the bikes that are offered, too)! We will all most certainly be back!!! Thanks Rick for being the "Host with the most!"

Cleaning service needs to be re-evaluated. Property is great and so is owner but disappointed in cleanliness. Porch needed pressure washed with spider webs everywhere and dirt.. Mold on air conditioning and door jams.

The house was really gorgeous and we had all of the amenities of home there. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and the bikes and the pedal boat too. It was great to have our own dock right outside too. We had a great time.

We had a wonderful time at this property! A beautiful calmer, quieter area of the lake perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding and lounging on a raft. Walking and biking distance to restaurants and ice cream. Cooked out on the outdoor grill one night, took out the peddle boat and took a six mile bike ride on the bikes that were all supplied on site. Rick, the owner was a great guy who has a wonderful vision for the resort - and his landscaping was beautiful! Thank you Rick, trying to figure out when we can get back! Would be so fun to rent all three properties with some friends.

This property is in a great location! Beautiful view of the lake. Kayaks, pedal boat, bicycles, outdoor community grill are the pluses. The house itself is nicely furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen. The bathroom in the upstairs bedroom is very tiny, no place to put any of your toiletries. Stairs, be ready for steep stairs, outside and inside. Bathrooms on bottom floor and 3rd floor only. The main living space is pretty, but small, seating for only 3 people (rents for up to 4 people). Dining space is limited to the kitchen counter behind the sink with only 3 stools available. There are two tables and four chairs on the deck, but not really suitable in bad/very hot/cold weather. Deck needs to be hosed down, edge mold, spiderwebs and insects everywhere. There are other houses within a few feet on both sides, which limits privacy. Swimming and boat docks available. New/clean pillows needed upstairs, the pillows were very stained, so was the bedbug cover, and had no padding so the sheets kept sliding off. Laundry available in the house is a plus.

This unit is quaint and peaceful. Just as shown. Great view of the lake and close to everything. All needed amenities were supplied. It was clean and welcoming. Rick is a fine host who cares for his guests enjoyment of Buckeye Lake LIFE! We enjoyed the kayaks everyday, and had a full moon with our campfire. We spent a lot of time on the balcony watching boats. We will bring our bass boat next trip and visit the winery. Thanks Rick!

Crane Cove
We stayed July 18-21 for my husband’s early birthday celebration. Had a great time and loved our stay. We stayed in the Crane House (yellow building). Our host was as amazing. Very friendly and was there to help any time we needed anything. We really enjoyed the setup of the whole Crane Cove resort. The shared spaces of the grill and fire pit gave us a great opportunity to become friends with our neighbors. We enjoyed riding the pedal boat and fishing off the shore. My husband caught a nice catfish. It is a very short walk (less than 10 minutes) to the Buckeye Lake Brewery/ Chef Shack and the Boat Yard/ Ice cream shop, which we enjoyed. The North Shore Park is right beside the resort, the bike path, which we walked about 3 miles of, is very nice and right on the water. There were also kayaks and bicycles available at the house. The house itself we really enjoyed as well. Everything is fully stocked in the kitchen, and shampoo/conditioner/ body wash/towels were provided in each bathroom. We loved hanging out on the porch and ate dinner and lunch there while enjoying the view of the Crane Lake . Bed and couches were very comfortable and there were plenty of soft blankets and pillows. My favorite part though was enjoying the lake and the outdoor area. Great interaction with the neighbors and host made for a wonderful stay. We definitely will come back and check out the other 2 houses at Crane Cove!

Great location
The house was clean and updated! The location is really great...a little section of the lake that is not busy and the water was very calm for kayaking. We loved that the owner included bikes and kayaks with the rental--probably our favorite part. There was also a fire pit that we didn't get to use, but was very nice by the lake. Great place to stay!

The yellow house was extremely clean and up to date. Modern appliances and great decorating in the unit. Being right in the lake was beautiful. The stairs are no joke in the house, best for 4, not 5 adults. Rick was super kind, knowledgeable and helpful.

Great lake fun getaway
This was our 4th visit. Great location. Comfortable. Host is awesome and responds to questions immediately. I almost hesitate to give a good review because I want the property to be available when we want to visit. We love the place.

This was just the perfect place to stay for my son’s graduation from Denison. It was a short ride away and truly paradise with all of the activities available right on the property plus the comfy cottages with great porches to enjoy the beautiful setting. What a find…

We found this cottage to be exactly as portrayed online. It was clean and neat, and well stocked with everything we could have needed. Richard was an excellent host! He was attentive, but not overbearing.
We stayed here in order to explore the Hocking Hills area, which was about an hour away. We didn't have time to fully explore the Buckeye lake area but found great food nearby, and hope to return! Highly recommend staying here!
(Obviously there are lots of stairs, which didn't bother us at all, but might be hard for someone with knee problems)

Hidden Gem
Richard has the best set up for one to experience lake life. This is great for families or a romantic getaway. My husband and I enjoyed walking near the lake and relaxing on the porch taking in the views. It was a bit windy so we didn’t get to use the kayaks but we will return for that soon!

Listing Was Not As Expected
The property upon initial review was beautiful. We rented the.2 bedroom home on the property. The bedroom on the ground floor was not as depicted in the pictures. When entering into the home it is one room per floor. The room when entering the home appeared to be a living room with a couch and Tv curio cabinet. Connected Ed to the bathroom. This room became a bedroom by letting out the pull out couch to reveal the very uncomfortable bed. The 2nd floor was where the kitchen was with a den area to include a couch, chair, and bar stools for the bar. The third floor had a bed but the ceiling was extremely low. My daughter kept hitting her head. Besides the problem with sleeping on a pull out couch, the other problem were the bugs on the main floor. Since it’s off the lake, my assumption was the bugs were a result of the lake. Regardless they started being noticed on the first night and got progressively worse. We did contact the owner and he reacted right away, spraying for the bugs. The issue however was upsetting and definitely took away from the lakeside experience. I believe the owner should describe the home more accurately and should deal with the bug issue to permanently address the bug issue.

A cute getaway
A little more bugs than I would have liked in the house (though it is springtime). But the property was lovely. I loved the kayak access, the isolated cove that was a little more private, and all the balconies that allowed for several different views! With the water and walking trail right there, it's great for time outdoors. The property owner was very communicative and did well to make sure I enjoyed my stay. I had a great time.
