Very clean and comfortable rooms. Lots of hiking information and books available.

Communication by the staff was minimal, it was hard to get information on how things work (laundry, pick ups etc)

Carefull with the first picture that show a swimming pool like atmosphere. There is NO swimming pool. Breakfast is great.

Fantastic hotel in a great location in Ponta do Sol. The rooms are quiet and modern and the room I stayed in had an excellent view. Breakfast was exceptional and they even prepared a breakfast for you and delivered to your room early if you needed to leave for the early ferry. They owners live on site and are very friendly and helpful. If hiking is your goal (the main activity in Ponta do Sol), they have developed excellent hiking guides and materials and can also arrange guided hikes if you are interested.

Ponta do Sol is a very cute town in a great setting by the ocean and mountain (better than staying in Ribiera Grande). Casa D'Mar is in a good location, though, you can't really go wrong in such a small place. Nice breakfast. Liked that you could use the clothesline on the rooftop terrace. A collective taxi was arranged for us to return to Porto Novo for the ferry.

The wifi would not reach our ocean view room, even though the property is very small. It didn't seem quite as charming and welcoming as other reviewers suggest. Perhaps it was because the owners were away. The person who checked us in was still very nice and did her best to communicate with us in English.
