Very comfortable room. We had an evening meal which was fabulous, excellent chef. The breakfast was also amazing, plenty of choice, large portions, even homemade granola. Ample car parking at the back.
There was nothing we didn't like. The stairs to our room were a little steep, so it might be worth checking if you have mobility issues.

The refurbished period property retains many original features and blends a rustic charm with a 21st century clean sheen. I was surprised to find an en-suite was nearly as big as the main room! (which in itself was ample) A stand alone roll top bath was almost swallowed by the large room which also boasted a mixer shower with a drencher head in a seperate enclosure.
I had a gourmet dinner and breakfast (smoked haddock and poached egg with Hollandaise sauce though there are also several other options available, including a homemade granola) All the food was outstanding and as good as you’d get anywhere.
And was polished off well with several local beers.
The village itself was quiet and made up of a variety of smart well kept property.
The wifi could have been a little faster, though i managed. I suspect it has more to do with being out in the sticks than the proprietor.

Dinner and breakfast were great. There was not a children’s menu, but the chef offered more choices for her when asked.

Personal touches, such as the beautiful homemade biscuits in the room and the friendly chats with the staff and owner.
I loved the character of the property and wished I had been able to stay longer to make full use of the facilities.
I will be back next year.

A wide choice on the breakfast menu. Expertly cooked and great coffee too!
The only things you.might consider changing are due to the character of the property. And why would you want to change that? We would advise that older guests might struggle with the steep staircase and changing levels.

Had a lovely stay. Very friendly and helpful staff, a superb evening meal and an excellent breakfast. All very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

As well as staying overnight at The Angel, we had dinner there with family (a party of 7). We all had 3 courses, coffee, wine (and a couple of whiskies to finish) and we were all absolutely delighted with everything, including the service.
It did mean we had high expectations of breakfast, which were fully met!
We genuinely cannot think of anything that could have been improved.

Enjoyed the: Relaxing and friendly atmosphere; Cosy furnishings; Olde Worlde character of the building; Comfortable bed; Absolutely clean and tidy; Good breakfast. Probably would have loved the evening meals too (certainly smelled good!)
Bathroom was a bit cold in the morning.

welcoming by nature of staff and property! loved the age and quirky nature of such an old building.
not so much a dislike but the bed was too short for someone of my height! ( 5’11)

Very clean and comfortable room with kind welcoming touches such as bottled water by bedside, tasteful selection of toiletries. Breakfast was delicious with loads to choose from and waiting on by friendly staff.
