The location and hotel were absolutely stunning!
That we had to commit to meals the day before. One staff member informed us we could order breakfast in the morning. However, the morning staff told us we couldn’t order breakfast because it was too complicated and would take too long. So we opted out of meals at the property because we felt like burdens.

A really beautiful place. Next to the river.
Really far from the center.

Amazing views, lovely facilities and friendly staff
Rooms wreaked of mothballs.

The staff were very helpful and attentive. We enjoyed the location right on the lake and tubing down the river after a short walk upstream. We enjoyed our romantic valentines dinner where the staff wrote a special message for us. Very thoughtful!
The beds could have been a bit more comfortable.

Attentive staff, beautiful surroundings, clear river you can safely swim in, clean facility and rooms, tasty fresh food, prompt food service if ordered the night before, well maintained, plenty of hot water in shower, English language cable TV with American programming, I would stay there again (GOOD VALUE)
Soft somewhat squeaky mattress, a faint musty smell in the room (but it is in a tropical climate), road noise ( sporadic during evening hours, decreasing as night went on), pool pump (filtration) not working for three of our four day- finally fixed

Friendly staff and good food
Decoration, isolation, prices, freezing pool.

Mahogany Hall - located about a 10-minute drive outside San Ignacio - was the perfect location for our stay! The staff were excellent - kind, helpful, and made great drinks, and the river provided a calming presence throughout our time there. Mahogany Hall had the convenience of food on property and the capacity to book tours, while still being a bit outside of town in a quiet area. We would highly recommend it!
If you don't have a car, this could be a bit tricky to commute to and from unless you have airport transfers and tours lined up.

This is a beautiful property just outside town on the river. The food is great and the staff are so helpful and friendly.
The shower could have been a little warmer

next to the river, out from the main town. The hotel itself was very good, with spacious rooms.
There was not much to find fault with at this excellent hotel!

The river is beautiful and the location tranquil.

Nothing in particular. However the view from the terrace of the river is pretty
This stablishment is not very user friendly. There are no elevators analthough the staff will carry the luggage up to the room, there really should invest in an elevator, especially for the guests staying at the suites.
The eating facilities are bizarre. On our first evening we wanted two glasses of wine with dinner, but that was not possible as we needed to purchase a full bottle. On another day we wanted to dine at 7:30 pm but that was not possible either because the chef left at 7:00 pm. Another querky thing is that you have to order breakfast the night before. This is Fawlty Towers on steroids. What is ironic is that the owner is a charming man from the US but he's been let down by the staff.
The establishement is located in a part of San Ignacio that I would not want to be walking in the night. There are no restaurants or shops close to the hotel, which means that you have to travel by car to the city centre to buy whatever provisions you need.

Mahogany Hall has set a new standard for us. We loved the room, location, pool, bar and food. This place is set right next to a beautiful river that we enjoyed swimming in! The pool was great to sit at in the evenings and enjoy a drink and the sound of the river and jungle. The best part of our stay here was the hospitality. The staff was incredible and so kind. The food is cooked fresh and is amazing!! They took excellent care of us from the get go and made us feel very special. Mahogany Hall is a special place that we won't ever forget. Thank You to all the staff, especially Jose', for our wonderful stay.

The hotel was on the river. The 3rd floor room was spacious and very nice. Beds were comfortable.
They advertised a hot tub, it was a jacuzzi tub. The stairs were extremely steep to the second and 3rd floors. By that I mean there was at least 12 inch rise on the stairs. I practically had to crawl up the stairs! The pool did not look clean and clear. It was a bit green...

Love this boutique hotel. Staff was so friendly and attentive. Building was beautiful with beautiful garden on the river bank. Fresh flowers and botanicals in rooms and around the hotel added a luxurious touch. Bed was cozy. Not busy so practically had the whole place to ourselves. Love the sound of the river, so relaxing! Hotel has tubes to use to play in the river, so much fun. Tried fishing in the river. They made our 40th wedding anniversary so special. Thank you!❤️
Hotel is located a ways out from San Ignacio, so a vehicle is a must. No problem for us at all, as we loved the quiet location and had a rental car.

The sound of the river flowing was very relaxing. The bar and restaurant was lovely and food was made to order. All staff was friendly, helpful and caring. Tables and beds were decorated with flower petals.
I did have a problem with the WiFi on the 3rd floor. Had to be on the main floor for it to work. I would also have liked a refrigerator in the room.

The room was large and had four beds like we needed. The setting was gorgeous, right along the river and the food was delicious. Very clean as well and great staff!
A bit far out of town.

Beautiful grounds and hotel. Super helpful to have restaurant onsite, as several days around Christmas very few restaurants were open, and some nights we were too exhausted from our fun excursions to want to go into town for dinner. Bottled water provided in the rooms, and on the 2nd floor seating area. Waitstaff super nice.
The WiFi in our upper level room was spotty, had to sometimes go outside the room to get access. Rough dirt road for a couple miles to get there, but AWD definitely not needed. Christmas Eve was loud until about 1am with music and fireworks from multiple houses in the neighborhood. Steep steps up to 2nd and 3rd floor rooms.
