Location was perfect. Accommodation bright and spacious. Our hosts were amazing. We had a slight problem which they managed to solve. We are so grateful.

Rental is a full house lost in the Icelandic countryside, surrounded by horses. Beautiful view of Vestmannaeyjar from the house. Very quiet and practical with three bedrooms, a bathroom and a big living room and kitchen. I recommend it :)

House was difficult to find the first time but we were able to easily contact the host and she quickly guided us.

Very bad road to house, too expensive for remote location and no microwave and wardrobe closet.

Nothing to think of

The house is clean and spacious.

However, it is in a very remote area. It is 20 min away from closest town or any other places. It also lacks basic cooking utensils (cutting knife, etc.), salt, cooking oil, etc.

The location was peaceful and secluded with spectacular sunrises and clear view of the night sky. It offered easy access to Vik, Hvolsvöllur, and other surrounding towns. We were surprised at the spaciousness and it felt much larger inside than the photos portray. Everything you needed to prepare meals was included such as pots, pans, plates and utensils, but it was the extras such as salt, sugar, and olive oil that made the difference for us. The internet worked well and we used the smart TV to AirPlay movies from our tablets in the evenings. The beds were comfy, the duvets were amazing, and the heated floors made it cozy despite it being cold, wet, and windy outside. There were ample places to sit inside and out. There was a washer, drying rack, and other useful things such a broom which most properties overlook. The property also had some friendly horses that my family enjoyed interacting with. The host was available without being overbearing. She met us with the keys and escorted us to the cottage on a very cold and rainy night, but realized we were exhausted and kept the introduction brief, but informative so that we could get some rest. I would highly recommend staying here if you are going traveling to Iceland.

I wish I could have stayed longer. I would have loved a second bathroom given that it is a 3 bedroom cottage that could sleep 6-8, but my family of 4 made due with one.

A very comfortable house for family or travelling couples - you have the sense that you are are away from the crowds and the views out of every window are fantastic. Very well equipped for cooking which we appreciated. The real treat was seeing a spectacular Northern Lights display one of the nights we were there! Highly recommend for a slice of Iceland you won't forget.
