Central, with very close parking, but in LEZ zone
The location of the apartment is very convenient to visit Antwerp. The old town, bars, restaurants and shops are within walking distance and the car can simply stay parked. By the way, the parking is less than 100 meters away, but in a LEZone (see below). The appartment is very well equiped with the whole kitchen and plenty of utensils to use! The dishwasher is helpful. The coffee machine with many capsules is convenient. Fine beds and linen.
The apartment's garage is located in a traffic restriction zone (low emission zone - LEZ). The host sent us a very discreet link about this zone, among a lot of other information, but did not properly highlight the need to register the car at least 10 days before and that failure to do so implies a high fine. As a foreigner (and possibly many others) I am not aware of these specific Antwerp regulations and it would be very important for this to be described and emphasized in the property description. In reality, this situation turns out to be a kind of trap for unsuspecting foreigners. This is an issue that can be easily solved and was the main reason to the score we gave. A lot of steep stairs! No elevator, but we knew about it before arriving. Small and narrow kitchen, in contrast with a very spacious apartment. Only one small mirror. This can be improved easily. The entrance of the garage is a challenge for large cars. Must go very slowly and retract the mirrors. We would expect to have a waching machine in an apartment like this, but we knew about it before arriving.

Fantastic place with views and comfort
We only stayed two nights in Antwerpen but we wish we could have stay longer. The apartment « The roof » is really great : it offers plenty of space, it is perfectly located in the historic center, the views from the living room are lovely, and it is quiet and comfortable. Bonus : there is a parking space (the access seems narrow but we were able to enter with our large family estate).

The location of the apartment is amazing. The old town, bars, restaurants and shops are within walking distance and the car can simply stay parked. The room layout of the apartment is good and overall the size is comfortable for 4 people.
The facility is simple and loveless. In the kitchen, a cupboard door is broken and no longer closes. There are only 2 red wine glasses, no white wine glasses, the dishes are a hodgepodge of different plates and cups. The cutlery is very cheap and you have the feeling that you shouldn't press down too hard with the fork, otherwise it will bend. In the bathroom the drain of the tub is clogged and you stand in the water while showering. The doorknob is loose and the toilet paper hook is about to fall out of the wall. There is no closet in the small bedroom. There is only a box spring bed (approx. 1.5 mx 2 m), 2 bedside tables and 2 small lamps. One lampshade is broken. Originally there was a painting on the wall, but it fell off and was never hung up again. The mattress of the bed is completely worn out. In addition to the large bed, the large bedroom also has a wardrobe and a chair. The mattress is saggy here too. The parking space offered in the underground car park is very small and it requires some skill to be able to park here. Access to the parking space is narrow and not possible with large cars (e.g. Audi A7).

Great location, large space, feels like home!
We went to Antwerp for the historic sites, shopping and restaurants. it was a great weekend and we were very happy to be on the Vrijdagmarkt as it is supercentral but relatively quiet. Unlike a hotel this place feels like home and you can spend time with the whole family in a large space with superb views. It has everything, from coffee supplies to Netflix. The kids enjoyed having their own room and enough space to roam around. The appartement is set on the corner and top floor with great views of the square and the amazing Plantin-Moretus museum which is a must see for all ages. We had breakfast at the various places around the square. Next time we visit Antwerp we will definitely try to book Helena again! Thanks!

Nice view on the city and cathedral tower. Close from all of the city attractions (fantastic Plantin-Moretus museum next door). On a small square with bars, café and restaurants (but quiet when you are in the appartment).
