We had an amazing stay at Turtle Watch Cabana!!! This was the best place that we've had in Sri Lanka. The family was so wonderful, and their boy was a perfect little tour guide! He played with our boy, showed us a lot of places, fruits, and was just lovely. The location is perfect, very near the beach and the owner is a perfect person to show you the turtles. That was an extraordinary experience for us. They also showed us a rock pool where we could swim as the waves were pretty big. Food was amazing too and we ate there all the time! We cannot recommend this place highly enough! 10 stars!

Everything was just amazing!

Asanka our host and his family were lovely, so welcoming and obliging. The cabana was beautiful, set in their garden - very peaceful, clean and roomy. Asanka works for Turtle Watch and kindly took us out to the beach on our first night. An absolutely amazing experience! We saw several turtles, witnessed egg laying, hatchlings - just incredible! The Turtle Watch officers are all very knowledgeable and the work they do so incredible. We visited during the low season so everywhere was very quiet - during the day visiting Rekawa beach (which is stunning) we barely saw anyone. We had breakfast and dinner at the cabana both days of our stay and it was absolutely delicious! Brinjal curry is one of my favourites and it was definitely the best I have ever tasted (the large array of other curries were also wonderful!). We went into Tangalle for a wander one day and Asanka kindly dropped us off in his tuk tuk and similarly transported us on a trip to Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary. I really can't recommend Turtle Watch Cabana enough!

this area is quite abandoned, but its not a problem of the owners.

Nice property in a quiet and secluded spot where you can get close to nature. The cabana was comfy and clean when we checked in. The beach is within walking distance. The food we had here was very good, we had local breakfast and some seafood for dinner which was both very tasty.

Not much of a warm welcome when we arrived compared to other places we've stayed in Sri Lanka, there was a lack of communication and we weren't given any information on check in on the turtle watching or the food provided by the property which would have been helpful.

everything was perfect ! location is amazing, close to the beach. breakfast was a feast and delicious. owners are kind and caring people. Asanka gives you his time and share his knowledge and expertise about the turtles. he managed to take us to a turtle hatching her eggs within minutes of receiving a phone call from sanctuary staff. the cabana is great, spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated, in a quiet and peaceful garden.

We loved the uniqueness of the property. Family feel and homemade cabanas are very special. We especially loved the outdoor shower and big comfy bed. The property is very close to the most beautiful beach we have seen in Sri Lanka, true paradise. The family who own this property are very friendly, kind and accommodating. They cooked delicious breakfasts and dinners for us, nothing can beat homemade meals. Cabanas are good for both couples and also families. Definitely 100% recommend.
