Beautiful property and place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wildlife galore and super secluded yet not too far from town. We would definitely come back.

We chose this place after reading the reviews and buying into the the picture Ashley painted of this place. There are too many other options in this area to risk it, in my opinion and here is why:
Unfortunately for us, we drove into a construction site; which included bulldozers, 18 wheelers and a huge dust cloud. According to Ashley, she cannot stop mother nature which pushed back this project they were working on by 5 days. I totally agree...except for, she could have communicated those details to us and given us a chance to move our trip. For the first day, we hid inside from the dust cloud and construction noises only to be told by Ashley's father that the crew would be back before 7:00AM on the Monday that Ashley allowed us to extend to without telling us about this project. Her father asked the crew to not come back on Saturday/Sunday after we asked him if that was an option. This "project" was only 30 or so feet away from the front door of the cabin.
The cabin is cute but it wasn't clean. There was mouse dropping all over the clean towels, the counters, on top of the fridge, coffee grinds still in the pot, so much animal scat on the back steps that we could not use the back door and the garbage disposal wasn't working but my boyfriend took the time to fix that. I tried to have a conversation with Ashley but she only responded to tell me that she could not control mother nature and wanted to know what wasn't clean and then she went MIA on me. Pick a different place!

I am very happy to have found this Vrbo cabin.
The owner Ashley was very clear and helpful with her messages and the day of check-in everything went perfect.
This place is quiet, in a secluded farm, in the middle of nowhere. It was what I needed to get back to writing and end my writer’s block.
The cabin is equipped with everything that you need. Bathrooms in both floors. The kitchen is clean. The living spaces are decorated with very quaint cabin aesthetics. I was pleasantly surprised that the big bed was extremely comfortable.
I enjoyed the outdoors hot tub that helped me relax by the end of the night.
I’m very grateful for the host and I will surely recommend to someone who is looking for a nice little retreat outside of the city and disconnect from digital life.

We stayed here with our family of 4 to kick off our summer. We love the Hill Country and enjoy staying in rural properties. This is a fantastic location and lovely property. Look forward to returning.

Perfect place for a nice quiet weekend getaway. Beautiful, rustic and exactly what was needed for a peaceful weekend way from the busy cities.

This property is amazing. Just know that it is way, way secluded. Like 15 minutes from a highway that is 20 minutes from a town. To us, that was a plus. The cabin is awesome. It sits at the bottom of a Texas mountain (okay, probably a hill, but in Texas, that is a mountain). It has a fire pit and a hot tub outside. Inside, was super clean. From other reviews, my wife was a little worried about scorpions, but we did not see any - to her delight. The place was clean. The beds were decent - two kings and a twin. You probably want to bring your own pillow which we did, but the ones there were pretty flat. The water pressure is not great, but when you are on a well that is pretty common. The washing machine did not work or maybe it is set up not to work with guests. We were just going to wash our sheets and towels on our way out.
We did run into the owner of the property when we got there and he reminded us of Tim McGraw (maybe it was him). Super nice and friendly.
Part of me wants to tell you not to stay here so it will be available to us next time, but we give it a 10/10. We are definitely coming back, often!

My husband reserved this property for my 40th bday. It was exceptional in every aspect! The property was beautiful and SUPER secluded which we love. There was abundant wildlife everywhere. Would 10/10 recommend it to anyone who loves seclusion but also likes having all the amenities. Also the hot tub was perfect!

We had a great time! This is truly in the middle of nowhere, which was just what we were looking for! The stars at night are amazing. Great hot tub. Very clean. Had all of the essentials needed. Will definitely be back and plan to just stay at the house and enjoy nature. Highly recommend.

Cozy place, definitely off the beaten path. We were looking for a comfy hill country getaway and found it. One detail that wasn’t obvious to me from the listing is that the loft sleeping area and master bedroom are adjacent upstairs. Not an issue for us, but one something not totally clear from the posting. We definitely enjoyed our week out at the ranch and, while there, did make it out to both Enchanted Rock and Fredericksburg.

We loved spending our girls weekend at Martin Fort! It was still close enough to enjoy Fredericksburg and still get the rest & relaxation we wanted. We know water pressure can be a challenge in the country, especially in upstairs showers, so we would recommend women with longer hair pack their dry shampoo. Hope to visit again in the future!

The pictures on the listing do not come close to capturing this beautiful home and surrounding property. Absolutely gorgeous, peaceful and exactly what my husband and I needed to relax, unwind, and reconnect. Simple, yet beautifully decorated, and extremely clean. Definitely will stay here again. Thank you for everything, Ashley!

My wife and I stayed here for our 22nd anniversary. The property is beautiful! The drive up to this secluded house is great as well. We saw a wide variety of animals while we were there. If you go during the warm months we would recommend bringing a blacklight flashlight to aid in spotting the scorpions outside on the porch and on the pathway to the hot tub. There was a lot of attention to detail in decorating the house, the bed was very comfy and the kitchen had everything that we needed. The only thing we wished that would've been included was some history on the fort and original pictures along with renovation pictures. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back.

secluded getaway
Secluded, lots of wildlife on the property, no light pollution, great for star gazing and just listening to nature, yet had all the amenities of home.

Loved this property for the beauty and seclusion it offered for some great time to get away and unplug. No WiFi and spotty cell service, but that was what we wanted. Drive all the way down the Willow City Loop road to get some gorgeous views! Town is about 35 minutes away.
Word of caution that if you can’t handle scorpions, don’t go when it’s warm or hot outside. I lived in AZ for a while so I understand there’s virtually no good way to get rid of them this time of year in a property in the middle of nowhere. We killed about 12 the 5 days we were there, mostly on the porch but some inside. We brought a black light flashlight I had left over from AZ as they glow and you can find them before they sneak up on you.

Beautiful, secluded and peaceful. Definitely one of the best places I have stayed. This is the only place I will stay when I go to Fredericksburg again. Yes, it may be approximately 30 - 35 min to Fredericksburg, but it is more than worth it.

Beautiful environment
Nice secluded getaway. Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Easy drive to Fredericksburg. Bedding was comfy. Spiral staircase was slippery so we just used outside stairs and it was fine. Hot tub was great.

Beautiful historical cabin. If you want WAY off the beaten path this is for you.

Pros:
Quiet surrounding, great stay if you are looking for a getaway (great location), beautiful house with a lot of history, kitchen is fully equipped with almost everything you will need for cooking, cozy atmosphere with a fireplace (although we did not use the fireplace, still nice to have), clean bathrooms, fresh linen, hot tub, good overall cleanliness.
Cons:
Scorpions in bed (found 2 scorpions in the master bed both nights which made the stay a little uneasy at night), outside patio could use a little more lighting like string lights (especially around the grill area), no internet access (we didn’t mind but could be a deal breaker for others).
Overall, not a bad choice.

We wanted somewhere secluded and away from the city and we got just that. It’s a little scary at night we found out one night so we made sure to make it back by 730 the latest. Hot tub was amazing. Overall it was exactly what we wanted. Loved all the cows, deer and horses and the donkey.
