Room is excellent with most facilities. Good view of the Matterhorn also

A bit far away from the station makes the uphill trek a bit cumbersome. But worth it

An amazing spot, a Boutique Hotel with a wonderful view to Matterhorn! We stayed for two nights in a room with a big double bed and a bunk bed couchette (family of four). Alpenlodge is a very well run hotel. It is located on the hill (on your left from the train line) just in the entrance to Zermatt. There is a steep uphill road to the hotel. But from train station a taxi will be waiting for you to transfer all luggage and people to the hotel without extra charge (the same stands for when you leave the hotel to the train station). The hotel is very cosy, with a small but beautiful veranda with excellent view to Matterhorn. Inside the restaurant with the same amazing view and also the area for breakfast. A very modern, cozy and well designed living room waits you for a drink and relax, just next to the dining room. The rooms are spacious, modern, cozy with well designed furniture and all the amenities. We had a balcony with view to Matterhorn and a sofa to relax (also chairs and table). The personnel were very friendly, very helpful and very willing to provide you with all the information you might need for Zermatt. They were all great and I can only thank them for the excellent experience we had during our stay. I can confidently say that we will be back!!!

Everything was perfect!!! If I had to say something that I didn't like, that would be that there was no refrigerator in the room (although you won't be needing one as it's chill outside in the night and the tap water in Zermatt is drinkable and crystal cold) and the ascent (with high inclination) to the hotel from Zermatt 's center, in the early afternoon in a hot sunny day. But all the other times the way to and from Zermatt' s center was just fun. An absolutely delightful walk!

i like everything during our stay. It was perfect even time the weather is not good. Still youll love to stay the whole day. I like the snacks they serve in the afternoon and the breakfast is good as well.

We had a beautiful room with a fantastic view of the Matterhorn! The furnishings were stylish and comfortable.

It’s a bit of a trek up to get to, but you are in the mountains after all. 🙂

I wish it would've been clearer that there was a hotel shuttle from the train station. I walked up the hill, which was okay, but it would've been great if I had been reminded that service was available!

The view from our room balcony was just breathtaking. 15 min walk from the Train Station, but its okey because we really enjoyed the scenery going to and from the hotel. Breakfast was sufficient. We stayed in Matterhorn room at the 2nd floor and it was just BEAUTIFUL. The furniture in the hotel were done by the owners themselves, beautifully done. Martin and Wife were very friendly and hospitable. We appreciated the free taxi ride from and to the Train Station during arrival and departure.
