We love this home so much and the renter was equally as fantastic. It was clean, upgraded, and had a beautiful view of the marsh. We easily made the trip to the beach daily on foot with 2 toddlers and an 8 year old. My husband adored the access to the marsh and I thoroughly enjoyed the view of the marsh while drinking my coffee on the screened in deck in the mornings. Can’t say enough good things! We hope to be back soon!

We have stayed here numerous times and every time it has been fantastic. We needed a place where we could completely unwind and we did. There was nothing better after some beach time to sit with a book and glass of wine on the back deck or screen porch.

Such a great place and owner is super helpful! We loved everything about this house, the location, the screened in porch, the outdoor shower, the privacy… the list goes on. Already awaiting a trip back!

Great rental place. Sitting on the deck to watch the marsh was so relaxing. I’m not much of a beach person so the rest of the family enjoyed that. Easy drive to Southport to enjoy the town. It was nice to be at the beach but not be in a “beach” place. No touristy places. Nice local food. No chain restaurants. Completely different from myrtle beach.

Your beach house is amazing I love how it was set up it's absolutely beautiful friendly neighbors we had the best experience and vacation I appreciate letting us stay there we will definitely be staying in your beach house again next year thank you so much

First I'd like to say the house is much better than the photos!!!! I wouldn't plan on enjoying the backyard though because when we were there it was saturated and high of water from the marsh. Didn't upset us but just wanted it known. The marsh has AMAZING views though! You can hear the waves crashing as soon as you open any door of the house - the beach is that close! Bring your own linens, towels and blankets... but be amazed at how stocked the kitchen is! I've never been to a rental that actually has spices and condiments ♡. This house is really amazing! The neighborhood is nice and quiet. The owner is awesome and Oak Island is such a magical place. Can't wait to go back!!!!

We stayed for a week June 4-11 and had an amazing time. This house is perfect for a relaxing and comfortable week in OKI. Absolutely everything you need to cook an elaborate meal is stocked in the kitchen. Colander, blender, and every utensil you could need. The house is so charming, with comfortable sofas and beds. It’s less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The canal out back provides a beautiful view with lots of wildlife. We spent more time on the screened in porch watching the birds in the canal than we did at the beach. It’s only about a 5 minute drive to Publix, shops, restaurants. There are ceiling fans placed throughout the house and bedrooms, so you can enjoy a nice breeze 24/7. We loved that there are nightlights placed so that you can get up during the night and easily find your way to the kitchen, bathroom, etc. Cable and Wi-Fi were great. We are already discussing dates when we can come back and stay here!

We have visited Oak Island for the past 5 summers and we LOVE this beach. This home was a great place to stay and we enjoyed the relaxing back porch with the wonderful views of the water marsh area, the short walk to the beach (about 5 minutes), quiet street, lots of shade trees, and stunning sunset views. We actually did not realize that the third bedroom was detached from the remainder of the house when we booked, but that was not a big deal and it worked fine for our needs. We hope to stay here again in the future. Thank you to the owners for sharing your beautiful home with others. :)

The screened porch along the back of the 2nd floor living space that then leads to the open deck we’re our favorite spots. Private and quiet except for the songbirds- ideal!

Fortunately we got it in time, but there was no mention of this on listing or Vrbo email. Second, listing says "100's of cable channels". The cable was not working. Not an issue for a short stay, but could be important for others.

We had a great week staying at “Pelican House”. Room for 8 and everything we needed to feel right at home. The back deck is a great place for viewing the wildlife in the marsh. Herons, egrets, deer and even saw a gator at low tide. I also enjoyed catching crabs off the dock. If you are thinking about renting from Bill, don’t hesitate.

We loved the location. Cleanliness could have been better. There was a lot of dog hair on bedding and screened in porch. No place to put your dry, or canned food. None was a deal breaker as I think cleaning crew was behind because they were on house until 3:20 and new we were there. Downstairs bedrooms has a musty smell but probably from previous flooding.
