Roof top bath and breakfast. Coffee at the ground floor lobby was lovely looking into the beautiful garden. The room was nice and clean.

The ground floor bath. The hot onsen water was great but the facility (mirrors, walls, ceilings...) looked a little old. I'm a little disappointed when I didn't get a reply from them. I asked about the discount supported by the local authority.

Beautiful Japanese hotel--modern building but traditional tatami rooms. Extremely comfortable, and the baths (both indoor onsen, and outside rotemburo on the roof) were very clean and appealing. The included breakfast was wonderful (we had Japanese; they easily accommodated the request for vegetarian, even though they included fish roe!!)

The city of Tendo is not very appealing, and the hotel is near a rather large road, so the area outside doesn't have very much going for it. It is, however, possible to walk to Yamadera from the hotel: along a fairly quiet (even if it's large) road that goes through orchards and fields. (It's about a 9km walk each way.) The free shuttle to/from the train station is only at certain times of day: we were told that they could not bring us back to the train station in the afternoon... (Not quite clear what the rationale for this was). It's about a 20 minute walk to the station. Not many dining options in the neighborhood, so come prepared.

Easy to get to yamadera, nice staff, good onsen

Dirty matresses, dusty divider, but sheets were clean and fresh. I sneesed so much, I can forgive a lot, but not dirty matresses, it made me look bad!
