It was clean.

Hotel had no electricity from 7 pm to 7 am every day. I was told nothing about this at my arrival. I thought it was a one-off thing. So I stayed one more night, although it was unacceptable the whole situation. And it is mandatory by law in Cape Verde for them to have a power generator in the hotels. That they don't. So I left to another hotel and told them I was going to file a complaint to booking. Plus, at my arrival, they gave me a different room from the one I had booked with a balcony.

Nice large room, basic furniture but adequate and practical, fairly quiet, clean and tidy. The hotel has charm as does the entire town of Sao Felipe. Staff were friendly. Breakfast is basic but adequate. Restaurant service at the sister hotel very slow at times.

Great job transforming the property into a hotel.

The owner knows what a great comfortable hotel is like and what it takes to have repeated customers. In order to do that, I would like to make a couple of suggestions: update your towels, provide quality toiletries (found a tiny bottle and it was never replenished- had to ask the Front Desk), provide a mini-fridge and the AC unit was too weak for the size of the room. My wife and I are planning to return to Fogo next year but will probably look at other options. Also, the website should clearly state that you have to walk a few blocks for the included breakfast.

The hotel decoration was very original. Staff was very friendly. Nice pool. Nice for solo travelers.

The fact that breakfast is served at a different facility. The bedroom wall needed a fresh coat of paint.
