Just had a great weekend at crowne plaza in Sheffield meeting up with family members to go to a wedding nearby. We were originally booked in the next door holiday inn express but moved across due to current refurbishment work at hie. Certainly glad we were moved as we couldn't have had a better stay. The original listed building is full of original features and has recently undergone a sympathetic renovation while our rooms were spacious, modern and comfortable. The aspect we were most impressed with was the lovely staff who were all so friendly and helpful with a real focus on giving excellent customer service. This started even before our stay as on being advised of the change of hotel I had a productive exchange of messages with reception to check that one of the booked rooms which we needed to be wheelchair accessible would meet the needs of my sister in law who uses a wheelchair.
All the staff we met were great but special thanks to Achille who organised us a table in the restaurant for a quiet family get together meal, Tomas who sorted an issue in the accessible room and was especially helpful at breakfast and Purna who looked after us at breakfast each morning.
The hotel would definitely be our first choice when visiting Sheffield.

Our room was at the top of the stairs and was quite noisy at night as there was a function downstairs.

Lovely hotel. I felt we ended up with a great deal as our booking was with the holiday inn but, due to closure (I think) we were transferred to the Crown Plaza.
No fault of the hotel but there was a noisy room nearby with a person/people banging on doors trying to get into someone's room at about 3am. As we were up early for a sporting event that wasn't ideal.

Lovely old building with character (we got moved to the Crowne Plaza).
Room was very small and lacking in character since refurbishment. First room was dirty so we had to be moved.

We actually stayed in the sister hotel ( The Royal Victoria Crowne Plaza ) as IHG own both and the Holiday Inn Express was closed ?? COVID related. This was an upgrade but we would pay the extra and stay here again.
Room was spacious with good views over the city and facilities of a high standard and clean.
We had breakfast included which was buffet style, plentiful and wide ranging from continental to full English.
Staff were extremely friendly, cheerful and pleasant.
We liked everything.

We stayed in Crown Plaza as advised by Holiday Inn. Car parking easy to get, courteous and helping staff, facilities, plenty of choices and delicious breakfast, big rooms with high ceilings, clean, everything was exceptionally good. Beautiful heritage building. We enjoyed our stay. Thankyou

How clean it was
No heating in the room did report it but was still left with no heat so was waking up cold

Breakfast was lovely, rooms nice and modern and beds really comfy.
Mirrors a little dusty and some cobwebs around the top of the window looks like it may have been missed for a while.
