We feel like we truly lucked out finding this little gem. It was 100% clean (and I'm fussy), the kitchen was well stocked so you could actually cook meals, the layout and furnishing were thoughtful, in excellent condition, fit the space perfectly and tasteful! The owner supplied a few sweet treats and enough basic supplies to get us going.
The location was perfect. Plenty of restaurants in the area (Sushi House!), a quick and easy walk to the beach for fun and sunset, and easy access to 101. The road is a bit busy during the day, but quiets right down at night.
Honestly, we couldn't be happier with the owner and the lodging. Perfect for two!

This is such a great spot with a great story and a great neighborhood vibe. The beach is just a brief stroll from the front door. You can't help but go on morning walks on the beach with a warm tea, and catch the radiant sun sets in the evenings; no excuses. The main intent of my stay was to break from routine and to blanket myself in creativity... and I got that and more at the Surf Shack.

Great location, close the beach and restaurants. Right on the bike path. Cottage has everything you need and is very cozy. Definitely recommend staying here.

The Surf Shack is just a short walk to the beach and easy access to everything. Whether it’s hiking in Ojai, a day trip to Santa Barbara or an excursion to the Channel Islands, the Surf Shack is perfectly situated in the heart of it all. Additionally, you will feel at home here. The owners have done a wonderful job decorating and anticipating all of your needs - you won’t want to leave. Check in was seamless, the hosts were responsive to our questions and they had many recommendations for experiencing the local flavor (eating, shopping, happy hour, etc.) I highly recommend this property and I’m already looking for an excuse to go back!

This place is the epitome of a short term rental- perfectly located, all the amenities are nice (bikes, beach stuff, washer/dryer!, kitchen everything), has easy parking, and comfy bedding. It’s a very short stroll down the lane to the beach. I hope it’s available again the next time we’re in Ventura!

Apartment was clean and comfortable.
The dryer didn't work and the microwave was in the garage.

Perfect beach getaway
The property was clean, beautifully decorated and steps away from the beach! The owners have made this property a very welcoming getaway and have gone out of their way to include everything you’ll need to enjoy your stay! They are easy to communicate with and I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family! Thank you!

Beach shack a dream!!!
Got to walk to the beach everyday and boogie board. What more could I ask for?! Well I got great comfortable accommodations, cute books to read, and nice cooking and grilling setup. So happy!!

Beautiful cottage short walk to the beach and restaurants in Pierpont. Cottage is clean, cute, and well appointed. Jen is responsive and managed everything perfectly. We had a lovely visit and will be back. The only possible improvement would be to have some lights outside on the patio. But that really wasn’t a big deal. It was a wonderful getaway.

Amazing!
Jen was an amazing and thoughtful host. The surf shack is equipped with everything you need. Her thoughtfulness is seen throughout with all of the small touches in the surf shack. The location is perfect to walk to the beach or walk to Seaward Avenue to grab a bite. We loved riding the bikes provided to the pier. This place is a must if you are coming to Ventura. We will definitely come back.

It was the cutest little place to stay. Very comfortable, with easy access to the beach. The house offers lots of extra perks that make your stay fun & memorable. Sure would stay again when visiting Ventura.

A cute little Shack close to beach for a sunset walk. Convenient places to eat close by. Easy freeway access. Not far from the Ventura Marina many which have shops and things to do there. I

Beautifully perfect home- away-from-home
What an amazingly perfect little place to stay for a getaway or extended stay. Fresh ,clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated(we even had a Christmas Tree). Stocked with everything we could possibly need. Within a short walk to the beach, coffee shop, excellent restaurants , liquor and grocery store. The host was very welcoming, friendly and easy to communicate with. Thank You!

Obligation with relaxation!
Went to Ventura for a baby shower and wanted to get as much beach walking time in while we were there. This place fit the bill. Everything you need asway from home is there. All new and very clean. We enjoyed the half front door to experience the ocean smell. My only suggestion is a multi port charging station for devices. It is always cumbersome to find outlets.

Definitely stay here. Great experience
This property is the perfect place for two to stay. It would still be good for 3 as well (the 3rd could stay on the comfy couch) It is wonderfully decorated, everything in it seems brand new. The area is great and there is assigned parking as well. super clean, and the owner is immediately responsive (we told her when we arrived and left and she immediately wrote back). What a great deal in Ventura. We will definitely be staying again.

Anniversary Getaway
We had a great time at this fantastic place for our wedding anniversary. The neighborhood was great! Walking distance to the beach and to local eats. The weather was perfect and the weekend im Ventura was unforgettable!

Super cute Ventura beach stay
We really enjoyed our stay at Jenny’s place. The house is very clean, stylishly decorated and has everything you need.
Jenny adds really nice touches such as two beach cruisers, a boogie board and a bunch of beach accessories, which is really awesome of her and convenient since her place is a block from the ocean.
We had a great time and we’d definitely stay here again! Thanks Jenny!

Excellent stay at a fantastic spot!
We absolutely loved the Shelburn surf shack at Ventura!! There was everything inside that we could ask for and it was at the end of a beach block! We had bikes, surf boards, boogey boards and coolers at our convenience. Jenny was a super host for us and even left us a surprise in the fridge! The location was perfect as we were only a few minutes away from the Harbor! We will absolutely come back!
