We stayed in an oceanfront suite which was very spacious. There was a private pool, and the open bathroom was spacious. The shower was equipped with steam options, making daily shower quite enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant choices (Italian, Thai, seafood, steak) were excellent. The property was huge, but we were able to get around with bikes that came with the room, and golf cart transportation service was always available. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Great location, beautiful well kept clean beach and lagoons. Grounds are large and incredible - lots of wildlife. Service / staff are excellent. Main hotel / lobby area and Sands restaurant / pool area are fantastic. Breakfast really good. Rooms are very spacious.
Food at main Thai restaurant was very average and flavorless. Had to rebook Tomahawk steak restaurant as Corporate guests given priority - when we finally ate there the steaks were returned 3 times until we eventually gave up, they were inedible... at $150 each. Mexican buffet, both ended up with three days of stomach issues after this. Some of the rooms are very dated. Stayed in 807, a bedroom villa on the beach - which needs to be completely refurbished. Pool and jacuzzi were barely functional, light fittings hanging out in jacuzzi, tiles missing, filter system only partially working. Showers and WC's are probably over 10 years old, fittings barely work, mosaic tiles missing. Pool staff did what they could to rectify, however, this property is past its best years.

Unparalleled staff, unbelievable location in a jungle/nature preserve. First class all the way.
Recommend checking prior to booking to see if any conventions are being hosted when visiting - loud, disrespectful convention attendees were a real problem.

The hidden gem is El Pueblito no one really talks about. The food at burger shop and el fondita was amazing. Pricing was reasonable. Food was delicious. I would recommend to family and friends.
The ceiling in the living room was constantly dropping/ leaking debri. It wasnt addressed at all. No one would clean the debri on the table. We had requested for a childrens bicycle and helmet on the first day of arrival on thursday but didnt get the bicycle until monday the day before our departure. We had called multiple times. We spoke to another family that landed on a date later than us and they received 2 bicycles for both their children. That was disappointing because my son wanted to ride a bicycle the every day....

Service was impeccable. Staff was wonderful. Facilities and architecture was gorgeous. Food was great
I wish it was more kid-friendly. Kids club was quite small and i wish there was a bigger pool for the kids like a slide and splash pad.

The property and the villas were lovely. The staff is outstanding.
Breakfast selection is great.
Our pool was super fogy indicating it wasnt clean at all. when we told reception (twice) they said they would send maintenance but nothing happend - so we couldnt use the pool our entire stay.
When we repeated the problem while settling the bill expecting compensation we were initially offered way too low compensation for the mishap and only after pushing they reacted correctly. In a hotel of this level we would have expected the pool cleaning to happen immediately, a new room and/or receiving compensation right away.
Breakfast is crowded and loud - so we did not go after the first day.

Amazing location and complex some of the best staff ever !
some of the older rooms are a little tired but still amazing - a revamp of the pools and tubs more
like the newer beach rooms would help

Beautiful resort but service level they pretend is not achieved.
Took two days and five phonecalls to get a kids bike instead of adult which a zeven year old can't ride. At the fift time the answer was " we have to check if it's available" . Made reservation months ago. Ages of kids were known well in advance. And to get to restaurant you need a bike. It's a huge resort. Now i took my seven year old on the arm.
First two days we had a wake up call at 7AM by the gardeners extensive use of a leaf blower. For hours and hours.
Asked for taxi to xcaret they asked 140 usd. Normal price is around 50. Playa del Carmen 42 but normal 25. In there defends they show a price list. That list is BS.
Room: we stayed in family villa at 1500 usd a day. Strange that's there is no toilet room at main level. Bathroom are very small considering the size of the villa. Toilet in master bathroom is really below five star standards.
Coffee machine nespresso is nice, unfortunately they did not refill the milk in the refrigerator.
We heard from other guest that there is a complimentary boat tour of 45 minutes. This was not told upon checkin. We stayed five night. On the third day I went to concierge to arrange a departure time. Fully booked for the next three days.... days after we saw several departures with only two guests in the boat.
They have a culture show on select days. I checked on availability upon checkin. They promised to check on that. They forgot and day after it was sold out.
All in all. They do it with a smile but you will always get a No.
And than I would not complain about prices of 45 usd for a breakfast or 25 usd for a tiny kids pasta
Will never go back
