Good location, secure building
It was filthy. Curtains and carpets had stains and many things didn’t work such as the fridge and shower heads. Visible Mould on ceilings

After several years we returned to uMhlanga and to this unit at Pearls. The reason was the prime location of the unit and the amazing views over the ocean.
Unfortunately, we found the unit in a devastating condition as a result of lack of maintenance and care. The appartment was literally falling apart (one window dropped out of the frame when opening). Many electrical appliances were out of order. Furniture and interior showed heavy signs of wear and tear. The unit would require deep cleaning. This unit no longer meets expectations when booking a stay at Pearls. The price requested for this unit is also not reasonable considering its current condition. Sadly, the caretaker of the unit was not helpful and avoided any personal contact during our stay - e.g. the window was not repared during the week we stayed there, not even provisionally! To sum up, currently we cannot recommend a stay in this unit.

Close to amenities
It was very noisy being so close to the nightclubs etc, the unit needs a really good deep clean as it smells of wet carpets, fittings are old and falling, the biometric system is really a waste, most doors opened without the fingerprint and the boom gates never opened with the fingerprints until a few tries, no response from the person we were contacting as to how the stay was going or anything at all

The location is excellent. It is a fantastic place to be. Gerrit and Solina are amazing. They were incredibly helpful and responded immediately. HOWEVER, THEY ARE SUB HOSTS. The actual host and owner of the unit are very unresponsive it would seem. THEY COULD NOT CARE AT ALL and needs to be reprimanded for awful behaviour. That OWNER of the unit should be struck off of Booking.com. Please read my comments on what i did not like as this apartment needs SERIOUS WORK TO ASK THE OVERATED PRICES THIS PERSON IS ASKING! VERY INCONVENIENT AND I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR ALL THE INCONVENIENCES OF NO AIR CONDITIONING AND WORKMEN ALL DAY LONG. AS WELL AS UGLY AND BASIC FURNITURE THAT DOES NOT MEET THE PRICE OF THE UNIT. WARNING ..... DO NOT STAY THERE UNTIL THE OWNER WAKES UP TO THE FACT THAT IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!!!!
There are a number of problems that the owner OF THE UNIT SEEMS TO HAVE:
THE UNIT HAS OLD ROTTING FURNITURE ON THE BALCONY THAT NOT ONLY TAKES UP SPACE BUT RUINS VIEWS. THE FURNITURE IN THE APARTMENT IS BASIC - IT LOOKS LIKE A FEW WOODEN BOXES PUT TOGETHER AND HAS LIMITED STYLE TO MATCH THE PRESTIGE OF THE VERY EXPENSIVE RATE. THERE WAS NO AIRCONDITIONING. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD BEFORE WE ARRIVED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT WAS BROKEN AND WOULD NOT BE FIXED. THERE WERE WORKMEN OVER THE BALCONY ALL THE TIME WE WERE THERE - WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE PRIVACY. TO BE HONEST. IT IS OVERATED. TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET. AVOID THIS APARTMENT UNTIL THE OWNER OF THE APARTMENT GETS THEIR ACT TOGETHER!!!!!
