Staff at the front desk is not helpful at all. For two people, the bed was small, 120cm, and the mattress unfortunately uncomfortable.

The check-in process went smoothly. I arrived about an hour before check-in time, and the reception gladly held my two bags as I did some sightseeing. The person at check-in spoke some English, which was helpful. They were also helpful when I needed to use the iron/ironing board.
For a Japanese hotel, the room was somewhat spacious. The bed was comfortable to me. I was there during mid-December, and while it was cold out, the room temperature was fine by me. The bathroom and shower were okay.
My expectations for a 2-3 star hotel were met, as I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton.
From some previous reviews complaining about smoke smell in a non-smoking room, I did not notice this at all. It's an issue in Japan in general, but it seemed the whole fifth floor was non-smoking. Overall, the room was adequately clean.
I did not have the breakfast, which I've seen good reviews about.
