Uncomfortable couch

Unfortunately we did not end up staying at this property as when we arrived, the room had a strong smell of smoke. We were assured it was burnt toast but even with the doors open the smell did not dissipate. As there were no other rooms available, we were offered a refund and were able to find alternative accommodation for the night.

The service was AMAZING!!! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and clean. Looked way better than the photos. The location was excellent!

The only (small) bad thing was there were no outlets close to the beds. That wasn’t a huge problem though because there were outlets in the kitchen.

Great location. Close to the Town centre. Comfortable bed and lovely spa bath.

The balcony was open and shared with other guests. Partitions between units would give some privacy.

Location and room were excellent

So close to the main town centre, but with gorgeous views of the ranges and fields. Very relaxing to wake up to that sight. The rooms themselves were spacious and facilities were great - air con worked super well, TVs were a good size and SKY channels provided welcome entertainment while we killed time between a wedding ceremony and reception. Everything was neat, tidy, and spacious.

The single beds were a bit small for us tall gals, but I’m sure they would be fine for the average NZer. The fridge was a bit loud at night which made it hard to get to sleep.

It had excellent facilities. It was a great location and it was super clean!

Really helpful hosts who suggested we do the Dolphin Encounter that was amazing. Also gave good advice on restaurants, cafes etc.

No servicing daily due to Covid. You could collect new towels daily.

Its location close to the train station and township.

I have no complaints about this motel.

If we spent more time in the room, we would have liked the fact that the main room was relatively cosy - equipped with sofa, armchair, TV and air conditioning, along with a kitchenette. Decent for a motel.

After we left, we received a surcharge for allegedly breaking their policies during our stay. The case raised was absurd. Not sure if it was just a genuine mistake or an attempt to rip tourists off but the attitude was definitely way off.

Host was very helpful when we had a little issue with linen. Spa bath was clean and amazing. Really good for tired muscles after a long drive.

Linen didn’t look and smell clean. Host was happy to provide us with new ones when we requested for some though.

Very clean, newish accommodation and location was great.

We stayed at upstairs and the balcony was opened so next door guests walked pass our room so was a bit awkward feeling. Better to block balcony between rooms.

Being two story you can hear the top floor throughout the night going to bathroom our first night they went often.

EVERYTHING, VERY COMFORTABLE, TV WAS AWESOME, WE GOT TO WATCH THE RUGBY, HEAT PUMP WAS GREAT TO HAVE

The location was close to the main shopping strip and across the road from the beach. The view of the Kaikoura mountain range from the balcony was quite spectacular.

Our parking spot was a bit tight and required a bit of manoeuvring to get in and out. Apart from that the property was really good.

I asked for an upstairs apartment on arrival, was advised none were available as they had to be cleaned but then someone was put in above me. A little disappointing as I wanted the view of the mountains.

Great sized room - lovely view of the mountains. Easy check in check out. Great location.

Heat pump struggled a little at times but was ok.
