This was the perfect location for our family to stay while exploring the North Island- out of the city lights and noises. Easy access to highways, and great local coffee shops and restaurants close by. The home is on a beautiful property, 3 bedrooms to spread out in, cute backyard patio, basketball court (much to my boys' delight), and pool (although we didn't use much due to the season). The hosts were so friendly, and even did a load of laundry for us, with the washing machine being broken. Would highly recommend!

We found the property very comfortable, big enough for the four adults in our party. Kristy was an excellent host there to greet us on our arrival but she also respects her guests privacy. She had left us a complimentary breakfast which was very thoughtful. The property is about 35 minutes drive from Auckland. Close to the road but the garage acts as a buffer from the traffic noise, which isn’t that heavy. Pool located behind the main house but there is a little yard behind the cottage and the sheep are very friendly. BBQ also supplied at the cottage. We enjoyed our stay.

Welcomed by the host who was so kind to allow us to arrive earlier than normal time. The cottage is so lovely and homely. The setting beautiful with paddocks with lambs. Listening to the wildlife outside was incredible . Birds singing their beautiful tunes . Amentities were well kept and clean and bedding and towels in abundance . Received a generous courtesy bag of goodies including chocolate orange juice cream yoghurt along with lots of goodies for breakfast . We could have stayed longer to enjoy the country setting. Kumeu and surrounding areas have so much to offer and this great spot adds to the amazing time you will have if you visit. Highly recommend the cottage and hosts to my family and friends

We enjoyed staying at this property. It was a great location to explore areas in and around Auckland. There are lovely grounds and animals(dogs, chickens and sheep) that the kids really enjoyed interacting with :) Thank you

Was absolutely perfect for the night before the wedding with my groomsmen and the night of with their partners. Friendly dogs, lovely swimming pool and a all round beautiful place. We will be returning for sure. Thankyou once again

My Bridesmaids and I stayed here the night before my wedding and I cannot express how beautiful and cozy the place was. The property is shared but you wouldn't guess it at all! My night before my big day was absolutely perfect! The place was clean and the beds were so comfy and made you feel like 1 Million dollars. Thank you so much Kirsty for your beautiful property.

We found Lloyd and Kirsty to be excellent hosts, they were so kind and thoughtful and considerate of our needs. They communicated with us really well and we were able to make use of all of the perks of the property - especially the lovely heated pool! We highly recommend Lichfield Cottage to anyone wanting a peaceful, relaxing time.
