This hotel is terrible, first of all the receptionist didn’t tell me what is the time for breakfast, I didn’t find any information in the room and even how to call to the reception, I checked the breakfast time in the web site and it was wrong time , I came 11 o clock on Saturday and they didn’t want to serve the breakfast for me or to return the money, at the end they gave me some cold beverages that were very far from the good quality. The first day it wasn’t noisy but the second day my neighbor came very late in the night and I can hear everything, the door, his phone conversation etc. It’s nice garden inside the hotel but it’s completely useless because there is no any place to seat there. The location is 10 minutes from the train station and bus stop to the airport is the only good thing about this hotel. Also it was very expensive when I booked it 1 month in advance before my trip To my big surprise the price dropped and 1-2 days before the trip or even the same day it was possible to book it much much cheaper. I’m a member of the Marriott hotels but this hotel is the fist and worst experience compare to any other Marriott hotels I stayed before.

beds were comfortable, breakfast was good (we prepaid to have it daily), location was close to the train which is what we needed, but a long walk to most other things
the bathroom was part of the room, and the shower wall was glass so if you are not with your spouse there is not privacy to shower. Every single day we were there the staff walked into our room, opening the door at the exact same time they knock (not enough time to come to the door), so it’s terrible if you are undressed in your room at the time they enter. our shower was only a few feet from the door and our door faced the elevator, so thank goodness we weren’t showering when they walked in or anyone could see you showering. We even put the do not disturb sign up and they still walked in our room with that on. it was annoying.

The facilities, and the staff.
Lydia at the reception was amazing, since the moment of check in. She provided a map and advised where to go and how to get to those places. She was sharing her shift with a gentleman tall wearing glasses (did not catch his name), both were above and beyond.

very dark interior and quite confusing multiple elevators when changing between blocks especially during late evening arrival

We arrived having lost a passport! The staff could not have been more helpful.
Our room got flooded by a fault in the room above and they immediately moved us to another room.
We had to extend our stay at short notice(due to travel delays related to lost passport), which they did with no fuss.
They made the nightmare start to our holiday on Spain as painfree as possible.
The staff in bar and restaurant were friendly beyond belief, and looked after us like we were family.
I would have no hesitation in staying there anytime We’re in Madrid.
The unfortunate flood of our room, but that could happen anywhere, the point is that they dealt with it immediately.

The style.
the quilt was a very woolen blanket wrapped in a sheet. It was very heavy and difficult to handle. And I don't think it was hygienic since the wool blanket inside the sheet/duvet cover was not covered well enough that the clean duvet cover. Since I couldn't lie under the wool blanket, it became an unmanageable lump in the bed. Unhygienic and completely useless in a hotel bed.
The floor was very cold, and eventually I had to call the frontdesk and ask for slippers. A lady was immediately delivering slippers. When you pay almost 200 € for a room without breakfast, at least slippers should be obligatory in the room!!!

The room was beautiful, shower comfortable. All around a 4 star room. ( no sofa)
It was more difficult to get to walking from Atocha station.
There is a bit a sound proof issue but not terrible.

The shower with open view in the middle of the room is interesting.
Very dark. Working is almost impossible without an extra camping light. All your personal data including credit card number etc. are being stored on servers in the USA. I only became aware of that when I had to sign a paper at the place. Booking.com did not say anything about it.

Shower temperamental. Toilet light on a timer - this is intrusive, through the glass door, when in bed and waiting for the light to go out!
