Toilet is a little smelly

Location is perfect, " on the spot" as said by my daughter, 75m from the beach, on the shopping street, in a quiet building. Easily accessible. Fully furnished , overlooking the street from 3rd floor and 25 m away from the street itself.

Two sets of keys would be more practical

The fireplace is a very nice feature in winter! (...once it was working, which required a through cleanup) Very good and central location in Knokke - very good shopping opportunities in the immediate surrounding and the beach is only a few hundred meters away. Nice lounge area and kitchen.

The apartment wasn't very clean on arrival. We stayed for Christmas and wanted to cook our own Christmas Eve dinner. Overall, the kitchen facilities were adequate for this but the oven was very dirty and required a thorough cleanup before we dared using it. There were also quite a few food items that were way beyond their use-by dates (e.g. vegetable oil, etc.) in the cupboards. There was a problem with the heating and hot water when we arrived. The first night, the heating didn't work at all so a handyman had to come check it out the next day. He told us that he had been at the apartment before and that the boiler needs air circulation to work properly which required us to leave the kitchen window open a crack the entire time. Once we knew this, we had no problem with hot water and the heating at all. We would definitely have appreciated clear instructions from the owners on this upon arrival - it could have saved us a very cold first night December. For the sake of completeness, the owners were reachable via phone and text message throughout and responded more or less immediately, so that our hot water and heating problem was solved very quickly the next morning. Lack of free parking.
