A beautiful old house in the country, on the edge of a large town. With lots of old features and very sympathetically maintained. If you're a fan of old buildings you'll love it.
A very short drive is an outlet village with plenty of options for food and drink. Also a couple of large supermarkets for fuel and snacks if, like us, you're passing through on your way to the Highlands. Couldn't recommend it enough.
A particular highlight was the offer of free drinks, beer and whiskey, in the drawing room once we returned from dinner. A most salubrious setting and way to wind down after a long drive.
Whillst it may seem like a cop out, there are no complaints from us.
If forced to nit-pick the check-in wasn't the smoothest. The Manager had left the building, and locked the door. Though we had arrived about 30 minutes earlier than planned. Hence we were left a little confused and unable to enter. He had provided his mobile number, but as he was filling up his car he couldn't answer.
Again, a minor item that didn't impact our stay and I'm sure wouldn't happen again.

Third visit, so that should explain much.
WiFi could be improved. When on business good WiFi is important.

Great place to stay in the Livingston area. We stayed here for a wedding at nearby Harburn Barn, which is less than ten minutes away by car.
Would recommend Limefield House to family and friends and would definitely stay here again when back in the area.

A beautiful mansion with an interesting history. Spacious, very nice room and a wonderful lounge. Greig, our duty manager, was also very kind and helpful and he told us something about the mansion's history. We want to come back! Really excellent place! Also they offer an amazing breakfast in a room filled with antiques :)
I had problems with finding this property at first, because the Google Maps shows two routes, but both are wrong: blocked with barriers. Fortunately, I've met some friendly dog owner who explained to me how to find the entrance. The actual entrance is located directly at A71 (Limefield Bridge street) more or less in the middle between Old School Avenue and Park Drive (the two routes shown by Google Maps) and once you know you must search on A71 street, you will easily notice a big walled gate with a Limefield House sign. The wonderful experience during our stay compensated for the initial trouble completely :)
