This was my 3rd visit to Hotel Thomahof so clearly I have been satisfied. I like the spa and wellness facilities and they were never too crowded. The new rocking beds in the relaxing room are HEAVEN. I think I‘d come back just for them.
Food quality is also very good and the rooms are very comfortable and clean.
The gym is small but had everything I needed and I had it to myself.
Minor things such as the outdoor pool being covered all the time I was there even though it was heated. I would have liked to swim outside. The sauna was not opened in the morning when I went one day so not sure if I was just the first one there and it wasn’t on yet. I did use it other afternoons and it was lovely.
The food portions were small…especially the main courses. Perhaps because the clientele seemed much older than I remembered from before COVID when I previously had visited, the food quantity has been reduced. It was fine, there was plenty of food but the meat provided in the main dishes were really only a few bites.

the indoor and outdoor pool was very cold and also very empty due to this reason :( even though in a beautiful place

The food was really good, the sauna was top, big rooms, the staff in the restaurant was really friendly.
The bed was horrible, the WiFi as never seen before (in a bad way), the room (119) smells like someone died in it.

This hotel is well run and the accommodation is good, everything was clean, plenty of storage and the bed was comfortable. Our room overlooked the hills next to the hotel and had a small balcony. there is plenty of free parking on site. The meals and food were superb, we had the full board menu and the staff were professional and knowledgeable. There is a leisure and spa complex which is well appointed and relaxing We stayed here 6 nights in mid May. The hotel is family run and there is a personal feel to the customer service. The hotel is about 5 mins walk from the centre of Hinterzarten and the bus/train links to the surrounding area, as guests you get free passes in the local area.
Although possibly a little pricier than other hotels in Hinterzarten the accommodation and personal touch more than makes up for this
