Our stay here was one of the highlights of the trip. First, the location’s super convenient, really close to the main bus terminal where shuttle buses go to and from different ski resorts. There are also shops and restaurant options nearby that are walking distance.
Lockers/dry room for snow gear easily accessible after a full day of skiing. The onsen was a great way to relax, especially enjoyed the outdoor bath.
Breakfast and dinner were soo good with lots of seasonal and local produce (we recommend trying their homemade jams and pastries☺️)
Lastly, the staff were all super friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to accommodate us throughout our stay and even after we left – we accidentally left behind some important items at the hotel and they were kind enough to help us locate and get it back to us.
We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again!!

Very nice onsen after you spend a day on snow.
breakfasts and dinners are delicate and delicious, and changed per day so you want have the same things twice.
The staff are showing the warmest hospitality ever seen. They even open the onsen for us to take a bath before leaving after check out, and thoughtfully prepare the towel and everything for us.
11 out of 10, no questions about it.
nothing, it just perfect

The family running the hotel were extremely accommodating, and even went out of their way to help make reservations for dinner at other establishments. Very kind and helpful!
Sleeping on tatami may not be to everyone's liking, especially after a hard day's activities

We loved EVERYTHING.
The staff are SO friendly, we LOVED the lady at the front desk- I wish I asked for her name.
We enjoyed breakfast and that it was different every morning. Thank you, Chef. The staff are so happy and so friendly. The onsen is so beautiful with mountain views. We stayed in a Japanese-style room and it was lovely. Very spacious, clean, comfortable. I am very happy with my stay there.
There are lockers for you snow equipment, there's an air hose to clean your skis/snowboard. The kind staff offered to drive us to the bus station. Thank you so much. We are very grateful.
I wish to return. We loved that it felt like a home. We collected pinecones from the street as a souvenir to remind us of our stay at Bergtour ♥

Hosts were very warm, friendly and helpful. Onsen at the top floor was great. Well proportion rooms and everything you need facilities wise for skiing/snowboarding. Located close to bus stops for shuttles to access other resorts.
Nothing! It can get busy in the village in the evenings for dinner, so would recommend either having dinner at the hotel or ask the hosts to help with making reservations ahead.

Bergtour Marukita is the perfect place to stay! We came during the ski season and the breakfast, room, onsen, and ski facilities (dry room, lockers) were all so good. It was a great experience to have a yummy and filling breakfast before going to ski and then coming back for onsen. Also, a plus to be able to purchase discounted ski passes there.
But what really made them stand out and want to write a review is their service is the absolute best. Even better than some five-star restaurants I’ve lived at. The front desk staff always thinks from your perspective and offers to help all the time. They helped us so many times (e.g. letting us use the onsen when we arrived by overnight bus, helping us plan our route to our next destination when we had a sub-optimal route, recommending restaurants, and many more).
English is their not their native language, but they always tried their best to communicate and understand us. When we really couldn't understand something, we were able to communicate via technology such as online translations/google translate when we truly needed it.
Nothing. We loved the stay.

One of the best examples of genuine hospitality I've experienced; the staff were overwhelmingly kind and helpful.
The Okami was the kindest and most helpful person I have ever met. Facilitated all requests with enthusiasm, constantly going above and beyond. Shuttle bus to and from the bus stop, and skiing ever day was always on time, and seldom overly busy.
Breakfast and Dinners were beautiful & abundant traditional fare. Would thoroughly recommend including in your stay.
Onsen was traditional, clean, gender-segregated, and a great way to relax following skiing all day. Beautiful view out over snow-covered trees.
Front desk sold Hakuba valley passes saving us the bother in the morning. Large ski lockers, and dry-rooms, as well as an air compressor to clear snow off gear.

We felt at home from first moment. Super friendly hotel team. Spacious Japanese room with tatami, eating table and great view from window chairs. The best Japanese breakfast I experience in 6 years in Japan. Nice outdoor Onsen.

Traditional style hotel, staff were fabulous and so nice- we felt like we were staying in their own home they were so accomodating and quite a central location easy to walk to everything.
Nothing! It’s traditional style futon beds so if you want to sleep in a fancy western bed don’t book it and don’t complain!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. An easy 15 minute walk to the Gondola and close to the Lawson's.
