EVERYTHING!! Myself & my son stayed with John & Mayf for 4 nights, the chalet was so comfortable, just like a home from home. John & Mayf are so lovely, can't do enough to make our stay perfect.

Stayed here with my partner and my two toddlers as we were going to CBeebies Land nearby. Amazing place, lovely and clean. The staff were very accommodating. would 100% recommend.

the key to the room

The room we got shown into wasn't what me and my partner expected. We got led to thinking we were going to be staying inside of the caravan. When we had got there the man took us inside his house and showed us to a room we was not expecting, me and my partner thought it was a joke. We noticed there was stains on the bed and the bathroom was horrendous. Me and my partner had to leave because we felt really uncomfortable staying there. We got back and emailed booking.com luckily we got a refund but the people at Dove Meadow had agreed to booking.com they would give it us once we had phoned them. The woman was saying that we used the bathroom when we did not as we was not even there long enough so that just proves that it wasn't cleaned before we had arrived, it was upsetting as my partner took me away for my birthday and unfortunately this was the outcome to it all, The woman didn't speak to us very nicely when we asked to use the microwave because we hadn't eaten nothing all day her answer was "You'll have to wait as I'm doing our lunch first, give me 2 minutes" 20 minutes later she knocked on the door, then when my partner was doing our food she was observing him and telling him he was doing it wrong, sorry but we will never be going there again we were very disheartened by our experience at Dove Meadow.

We had an amazing stay. Very clean very comfortable . Breakfast was great! And john the owner was fantastic nothing was too much went above and beyond. Great man. Made our stay perfect. We will be back next year. Beautiful place.

Everything was great.

Everything was even better than we imagined it would be! Not only was it the perfect location for doing the Dovedale walk in the Peak District, but also really close to Alton Towers. It's a lovely peaceful place that felt like a home away from home. Breakfast was also a real treat! I personally don't like most of what you get in a full English breakfast, which means often when staying at B&Bs with my dad, he'll tuck into that, and I'll just be sat there eating some toast or cereal, haha. But here, I had what I think might have been the most delicious pancakes I've ever had in my life :D (seriously, thank you so much for those! They were so fluffy and delicious that it genuinely made my day to start off with that for breakfast!)

There wasn't anything we didn't like!

Good location, easy to find and parking was easy. Accommodation in general was fine.

The reason for booking this B&B was it offered what we wanted, single beds and ensuite. Unfortunately the bathroom was not ensuite, although it was allocated to us only, we still had to leave our room into a common hallway (shared with room next to ours) to access the bathroom. There was twin single beds but they were not standard 3' size, they were only 2' 6" wide, too narrow for comfort. Room was small.

The location for our trip to Alton towers was brilliant. Only a short drive. The area was quiet and beautiful.

Our Chalet had everything we needed, the bed was really comfortable. Nice to have all beverages, biscuits, Orange juice, bottled water and fresh milk. table and chairs out on the pretty veranda, looking out to a beautiful garden. John, our host was very helpful and informative. Breakfast was fabulous! great selection and good quality food.

I loved the chalet, the closeness to Alton Towers (purpose of our stay) the owner was absolutely lovely 😄. The service was amazing, breakfast was amazing and loved how even after my son ate his fry up John made more pancakes. I will defo be back there with my family x

There is absolutely nothing I didn't like

We really liked the location and the little chalet was lovely, the facilities where clean and easy to use. The kitchen was nice with plenty of complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Beds where very comfy and clean aswell.

Only thing that bugged us in the night was the 2 single duvets on a double bed.

The beautiful bungalow is set in the most stunning, quiet location. Perfect location for walks with its picturesque views or just to relax, and located around a 6 minute drive from Alton towers theme park! The owners are so friendly and accommodating, willing to go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect, filled with all local knowledge and can point you in the direction of anything you want or need.

I stayed at Dove Meadow for 2 nights with my son for his 8th Birthday trip to Alton towers. After our long drive, we were shown a warm and friendly welcome by the lovely owners from the moment we arrived. We had a very well equipped and comfortable room which suited our needs perfectly! Fantastic cooked breakfasts, very close to Alton Towers, easy parking, lovely room, what’s not to love! I will definitely be returning to Dove in the future.
