The hotel was absolutely beautiful with gorgeous gardens. Was built in the 1500s so is full of history with the old polished floors, timber beams and stone walls. The furnishings are perfect, loved our huge bedroom with the most comfortable king bed. It’s right in the middle of old town.

Maybe the small restaurant could improve their menu?

Lovely welcome to this beautiful historic building. Wonderful staff both friendly and attentive. Lovely quiet spaces both inside and in the back garden. Excellent secure parking on the grounds. Unfortunately our room was on the other side of the house overlooking a busy pedestrian street with bars and restaurants, so it was inevitably noisy. Great breakfast , beautifully served.

Beautiful garden, staff and room

Warm welcome and hotel staff are excellent. Lovely hotel with bags of character. Great sized rooms and we had a fabulous balcony. Gardens are superb and great for getting out of the heat. Nice bar and small breakfast room with plenty of options and superb personal service. Good secure parking area, although we used public parking as we were a bit confused about entry to hotel car park.

The staff made us feel so welcome. The photographs of the hotel on the website were accurate and in fact the hotel was even better than we expected. But it is the staff that make the real difference.

What a special place for exploring Santillana del Mar and the surrounding area. All the charm of old with the upgrades of new to keep you comfortable. And a wonderful breakfast!!

The internet was not great. I had to do a work video conference for an hour and it was pretty rough. But, only crazy people come to this little gem of a town and work!

Superb small hotel. Extremely old building beautifully restored and furnished. Very old cobbled village favoured by tourists and surrounded by countryside. Ideal location for visiting area.

The taps for the shower and bath in room 16 are very difficult to operate.

The building was fascinating, a delightful combination of history and interesting more modern décor. The hotel is centrally located and has its own secure parking and a beautiful small garden. Above all, the staff are exceptional - so welcoming and friendly whilst being simultaneously thoroughly professional and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a smile. I can’t praise them enough.

Location is amazing with easy parking

Centrally located in Santillana del Mar with attractive looking communal facilities, outdoor seating area (though with only 6 seats) and parking. Staff spoke good English.

As is often the case the breakfast rate was such that it was considerably cheaper to go to the bakers cafe 50 metres away out the back gate. While the communal facilities were very attractive, the staircase at the front door could not be used as the glass entrance affected it. Our room was very small, with a sloping ceiling, which meant that you could not use about a third of the room apart from for luggage storage. The only window was a skylight. The bathroom had seen better days and there was no plug in either the bath or the sink. The point of a bath tub is to have a bath and for that you need a plug.

The hotel is atmospheric and staff were marvelous! We also found the room to be very comfortable and large. Light meals and wine selection were great.

The bathroom is a bit outdated and not up to par with the rest of the facility.
