An hotel that his employes make him a place like home.

Very good

The breakfast was really good with local products. The location is super nice, 20mn drive for Jokularson, and you can hike directly to another glacier from the guesthouse. Cottages are super cute. The room was spotless clean.

so much noise in the morning in the main building, doors banging from 7AM. and the blinds are not efficient for summer nights. the price, so high, for a basic hotel. but that's Iceland!

Convenient location when traveling to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon or Hofn.

The décor in the room was excellent, everything coordinated. Excellent breakfast, great location when visiting the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. We were fortunate to have two visits to the Diamond Beach since with the second visit, all of the pieces of ice had left with the tide.

Breakfast was delicious and included in the very reasonable charge in the main house. Staff was kind and courteous! They also serve dinner which we did not have. Room was fine and neatly set up—very functional

Thank you Guesthouse Skalafell for a wonderful stay!

Our stay at Guesthouse Skalafell was lovely! Our room was comfy and clean. The breakfast meal was delicious and plentiful. We hiked along the trails with the river on one side and cliffs on the other! Spectacular! The hosts were warm and welcoming. Easy to find. We would definitely stay here again!

A wonderful experience from a family-owned guesthouse

We were stuck due to the first winter storm of the year. All the roads were blocked. The owners were so lovely and even made us a wonderful lunch for free. We got an amazing homemade soup and homemade bread. They made sure we had everything needed and were so kind

The owners were really nice. The sunrise was breathtaking, the entire surroundings are really beautiful.

The doors would not lock, there was blood on the mattress - something we could see as the bed had not been made up, the breakfast that had had raving reviews was really basic - not a problem - it’s just that the reviews of this place really did not match reality.

A great place to stay if you are visiting Iceland!

Rooms were large and modern Had our own space as each room/ house is separate from one another Free breakfast was great!

Not many areas/ restaurants nearby. The nearest restaurant/ hotel food was not great and was overpriced

Beautifull place, in the green under a waterfall and near a little steam. The little houses are perfect, they make you feel at home. The staff is smiling, gentle and very helpfull. Good breakfast and nice view of the Icelandic landscape.

Great all around…

The property was great. Room was great. Family was accommodating. We’re got stormed in and they prepared meals for us. There’s is a hiking trail next to the property with fantastic views.
