The best overall rental house we’ve ever stayed in!! The newly renovated, beautifully appointed and decorated house is so cozy and perfectly situated for ocean and sunrise views as well as stargazing that we did not want to leave!! The gardens and landscaping are so lovely and thoughtful garden arrangements were placed all throughout the house! Birdwatching was plentiful and quaint walks down the meadow pathway and through the woods to a little beach were charming. Hours were spent on the decks having meals, chatting and enjoying late afternoons gazing out at the gorgeous views! Great location for getting to our favorite lobster lunch spot in Corea and hiking through Schoodic. Everything you need is in the house and Cora is so quick to respond to messages and so easy and nice to deal with. We will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area!! Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven and labor of love with all of us! What a gem — well done!!!

We loved staying here! The house itself as well as the property is so peaceful and lovely. It was a great space, and Cora made everything so easy. It was fun exploring the local area and being a bit off the beaten path for Acadia. We will definitely be back!

Our family of four + dog had a wonderful stay at this quaint cottage in Hancock. Cora was very helpful and communicative. The setting is just gorgeous and we enjoyed eating out on the deck, playing with the dog in the yard, or swimming in the ocean/tidal pond. The location is convenient to MDI, Bar Harbor, and Acadia. A great family vacation!

I was looking for a relaxing getaway with my two dogs for my birthday and I fell in love with this area two years ago when I visited. This property is beautiful and the furniture/decorations and amenities were as perfect as they could be. From the cute historical pictures on the wall to all the quaint comforts this property offered was just what anyone would need. Waking up every morning to the beautiful view of the ocean didn’t hurt either! The host also provided recommendations for activities and restaurants that we took the time to see. She was also very accommodating and let us stay an additional day because I was going to be driving to New Hampshire where they just received all the flooding. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

We drove from Iowa to Maine to stay in this lovely cottage, and it was worth every mile. It’s located in a secluded area but still in close proximity to all the local sites, including Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, and Schoodic Peninsula. Grocery and restaurants are also nearby. You can’t beat the views and relaxing vibes of the area. Highly recommend!

My friend and I had an amazing girls weekend at this beautiful cottage! The views were stunning, the house was so charming and Cora was a wonderful host. The location was central to everything we wanted to do in Bar Harbor and Acadia and the house was also perfect for a lazy rainy day at the cottage. Couldn’t recommend it more.

This home is lovely. Newly remodeled. Stunning view. The cleanest vacation home I’ve ever stayed in. Well appointed kitchen. Close enough to things to see and do but also away from it all and quiet.

I would give this 10 stars if I could! The home is breathtaking- updated, clean, and modern with a peaceful, antique ambience to place you right into a Barbara Cooney book- the way a Maine vacation should feel. Our family truly had the best time. My boys loved going down to the old rail tracks to make their obstacle course every day. We planned to be in Acadia for most of our trip but they would have been happy to spend their entire vacation exploring the waterfront! The drive to Acadia was about 45- 1hr each way depending on where you were going. There are also tide pools near the house to see starfish and seals, and at night there are a million stars to see. We were also graciously allowed to bring our pup, which was truly a gift for our family. Checkin and correspondence with the owners was nothing but a pleasant experience, I could have chatted with Elizabeth for hours! One of the best parts about this vrbo is that there was absolutely no checkout instructions required of you. No stripping the beds, loading the dishwasher, take out the trash- nothing. It was just peaceful from the moment you walked through the door until the moment you drove away. It's a very special place to rent from and if we visit Acadia again I will plan it around this home's availability! Thank you Cora!

The property and house were great; well kept and well appointed. It's a quiet street and area; away from the hustle and bustle of MDI. You can lookout on the bay and pond and witness a beautiful sunrise. It's convenient to the Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia NP, MDI and Ellsworth. A relaxing place to get away.

The charm of this 100 year old cottage and the secluded ocean views made for a relaxing contrast to the busyness of nearby Acadia Park. We loved getting to know this charming area of Maine!

Dog-friendly property and neighborhood that was a perfect location near Bar Harbor and Acadia, but not busy and loud. Cora is a responsive host, who ensures a sustainable and comfortable experience. This property does not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, we relaxed. The location and beauty flipped a switch that said: "you're on vacation!" The house is welcoming and charming with an old time feel that also offers contemporary stuff we tend to need. The neighborhood is quiet. Yet there is lots to do nearby - Acadia just a 35 minute drive - as well as restaurants and local treasures like the Tidal Falls, walks, bird sightings - osprey, eagles, cormorants, herons - and glimpses of playful red foxes. Quaint and cozy with very comfortable beds and a beautiful view. The low ceiling bathroom was a little tough for my 6'3" husband though. 😂

One of the easiest transactions we have experienced. My wife and I just needed a couple days to just get away and this was perfect. The views were beautiful. Location was close to anything you need yet out of the way enough to have the peace and privacy we were looking for. Home was perfectly supplied, clean and tastefully decorated. Sonia, me and our 3 dogs often go to VRBO's to get away from it all. It is our way of disconnecting periodically. This cottage was right on the water and had a lovely view of the ocean bay and the hills beyond. The house was compact and being older had it's quirks and charm. For instance if you are 6 ft. or taller the second floor could be a head knocker as the ceilings are low. The bed is one of the most comfortable ever making that well worth the price of admission to the 2nd floor. Having the dogs with us we always check the location for safety and privacy. This house was right on the road and the parking pad was a little distance away, so when we first unloaded, we immediately were concerned about traffic. Since we arrived in early April, the area was not a bee hive of activity so that concern was quickly alleviated. If it had been the height of the tourist season, it might have been more problematic. There is an absolutely gorgeous fox in the adjacent woods, which our dog Shelby flushed out early one morning. The other 2 stayed with me. They do not called them foxes for nothing and it was in no danger from her. While trying to get Shelby back I met a lovely retired lady, who saw me with leash in hand and offered to assist. We talked for a few minutes and Shelby popped out of the woods to greet her new friend, and say "Hi"! 'Crisis' averted! Learning that lesson I waited an extra half hour until it was lighter out and the fox was settled in for the day. The yard was spacious and open with plenty of room for activities. A permanent bench at the end of the peninsula would be a nice feature to sit an enjoy the view. The beach has large boulders acting as a sea wall, making going down to the waters edge at low tide difficult. Inside the hose the furniture and decor were white, and we had brought with us some throw blankets to put over the furniture as to minimize paw prints. That seemed to do the trick. Being "Off season" we knew the park amenities were closed, we were just a little surprised to see all the roads going in pad locked to the extent they were. Still is was a great trip. This area is like visiting an old friend, warm and inviting even in the in the non tourist season. I recommend this cottage, Cora is a good host and very responsive.. All the best! Frank

Our stay at the end of December exceeded our expectations. The cottage is situated in a beautiful location, was very cozy, warm and exceptionally clean. It really has everything you could ask for, and is thoughtfully equipped and maintained. We loved being able to sleep on one floor and use the downstairs for cooking , dining and entertainment. We appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into this cottage, from real plants to sustainable products, warm bedding and just the right amount of coziness. It was the perfect rental experience and we are looking forward to be back soon. Communication with the owner was easy, friendly and prompt. Thank you for sharing this wonderful location with us.
