The hotel was exquisite. The location is amazing in terms of view. You can see the Tiger island right from your window. It’s In a secluded place. Very quiet and serene. The facilities are excellent. We got hungry after midnight so they redirected us to their basement where they have a self checkout store 247. They have two pools. I think the only drawback of this hotel was that it’s a bit far from the bus stop. It’s a ten minute walk. And it takes almost an hour or more to get to the cheonjiyeon waterfall area.

The receptionists speak good level of English and very welcoming with a nice smile on their faces.

The rooms can be soundproofed. It was low season when we went there but I could easily hear everything in other rooms or outside. I cannot imagine how it is in high season when the hotel is full. It can be improved.

Absolument tout. L’hôtel est beau, propre, avec une superbe piscine à débordement. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse infinie. J’avais perdu mon sac dans un des bus, ils ont fait des pieds et des mains pour le retrouver et le ramener à l’hôtel. Je recommande les yeux fermés.

It gets the basics right. Clean room, short but decent menu at the restaurant, and a beautiful sea view. Though, it certainly doesn't feel like a 4 star property. It has been quite frustrating to deal with hotel staff though.

Hospitality and customer service is very poor which left us disappointed with the entire stay. If we hadn't prepaid for the stay, I would certainly have looked at alternate accommodation after the first night. We have been in Korea for a week now with hotel stays in Seoul and Busan, and nowhere else have we experienced this type of lacklustre service. We requested the staff to look into the effectiveness of air conditioning as we left in the morning for the hike to Hallasan. The temperature was set to 18 C., but felt more like 27 C(same as outdoor temperature). There was no update as we got back late evening. After calling the reception again, they informed that the facility staff had checked and found no issue. We insisted for them to revisit while we were in the room. They repeatedly claimed that it was working fine and it was hard to communicate with them due to language barriers. Calling the concierge again, they refused to admit, showing a remarkable level of impatience and poor attitude throughout the conversation. Finally, after 1 hour of wasted time and conversation, the manager showed us another room, which also had the same air-conditioning issue. There were several other issues throughout the stay 1. Insect in my orange juice glass at breakfast. I noticed another guest complain about the same 5 mins later. 2. Concierge phone staff insisted on charging 10,000 won for delivering additional water bottle to the room. Though, other staff contradicted this policy later. 3. Limited menu and operating hours of the restaurant. No all-day dining menu left us stranded and hungry till evening when we arrived from airport at 3pm. 4. We were taken aback by the charge on our card for 1st night when we had selected "Pay at the property" option. There is more than I can list, but this should convey our experience at Sumorum.

It was very comfortable and clean, spacious room, excellent brunch each morning , lovely views, helpful staff.

Location is scenic but a little out of the way. We did not have a car so had to taxi for other restaurants, shopping, sightseeing.
