I always choose a VRBO when I go to Hilo because I prefer to feel like part of the community rather than a tourist. Great communication from property manager from the beginning. She even accommodated a change in my stay very promptly. Also, the property manager does not have excessive demands when you leave the unit, just basic cleaning that anyone should do anyway. :-) The complex is well maintained, quiet, and the other residents were very friendly. The unit is clean and updated with a beautiful view of the pool and courtyard. The kitchen has everything you will need if you choose to cook your meals there. It is also very close to restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores. Like most units in Hilo there is no central heat or AC, but the ceiling fan in the vaulted living room and fan they provide in the bedroom keep the air circulating nicely. There was plenty of room for me in the bedroom and my daughter slept on the surprisingly comfortable fold out couch. I would definitely stay there again!

This apartment is a no fuss accommodation located in a residential apartment complex, with a nice pool. Although the furnishings are basic and there are no extras such as beach equipment or pool towels, it is clean, with a good kitchen, large closets, and downstairs laundry. It was perfect for me, near my colleagues work place, as well as the beach parks. The pool is large enough for exercise and family activities. It has ample parking. The owner was very each to communicate with. I hope to stay here again!

Old and neglected complex that photographs well. As soon as you park you see serious maintenance issues; dark parking area that needs to be repaved, overflowing garbage bins, some odd shed full of old metal and appliances. Then you are greeted with stained hallway carpets... hoping at least your unit is nice. You get inside, seems nice; the next day you see a roach; the next day several roaches of varying size. You head straight to the hardware store and spray everything... you also let the host know. The invasion stops but I can't sleep. That night some large rodent creepy thing was crawling around in the ceiling above your bed. As soon as the sun was up I was out of there; a day early but I couldn't take the stress. So much for my first visit to Hawaii. BTW, all of downtown Hilo is old and dirty ( stay out of town! ). Aloha

The setting, next to both State and Municipal parks and walking distance to the beach areas made for a very pleasant stay. The property complex is undergoing renovations now and efforts to improve the whole of it will just enhance anyone's future experience. The pool was great, the apartment had a nice view of the pool from the big balcony.

The property is easy to get to from the airport with convenient access to get around Hilo. Parking was plentiful, the grounds are well maintained and the koi stream was nice feature.

Great local condo. Lots of nature sounds at night. Low key place. Would definitely stay again. If you're looking for a "touristy" establishment this is not the place for you.

This a simple unit with the basics for a good low-cost place to stay when spending some days touring Hilo area and Volcanic National Park. There's no air conditioning in unit, and not sure if it was the humid weather, but the unit did have a slight musty smell. We just kept the air purifier and fans going and that worked fine. The complex is not in a touristy area and is a mix of local working people and some other visitors. Everyone we ran into were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the deck and also evening swims in the pool. The complex is aging but still has charm with its stream with fish running through it and nice mature tropical trees and plant landscaping. The owner Marlene was great to work with.

This was my first stay here and I hope to return. The location was very convenient to downtown Hilo and beach parks. The complex has well-lighted parking and was surprisingly quiet and serene . The unit was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. I do not have any suggestions for changes, and hope to return when conditions permit travel. 🤙🏼🤗

The apartment was exactly as advertised. It was very nice to have a place of our own. Good parking. We loved sitting on the balcony. The pool was an added bonus. We enjoyed our stay.
