We loved the rock house. The pictures don't do it justice the location is even more beautiful in person. The house was clean and stocked and Amy was great to communicate with. There is as great swimming hole down at the river and outdoor activities everywhere. We will definitely be back.

This property is hands down one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed at. The property itself sits in an absolutely beautiful, idyllic setting. The house has absolutely everything you could need and is very well stocked. We loved that the property had private river access to fish and swim. This home is in a good central location to many activities. Amy was wonderful to work with and very helpful. Mr. John is an absolute precious person and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with him every day we were there. Without a doubt, his great hospitality and friendly nature is what made our trip one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. Although our trip was short, it was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. I did not want to leave this beautiful property! We will definitely be back at some point.

Perfect place to hike, explore nature, and play in the Little Buffalo river. We had a blast. The house is comfortable and very well kept with lots of amenities and supplies. AC works good. The river runs the back of the property and plenty of pasture and woods to explore and see lots of wildlife. Town not too far a drive for supplies and large Buffalo river access nearby with some state parks. Many thanks to Amy and Mr. John, yall were great. Fast responses, very accommodating, and made our stay fun and memorable for sure. Mr. John even stopped by to chat and see how we were settling in and told us about the house and property. We felt welcomed in his home. 5 stars, definitely recommend and will stay here again next time we are up that way.

My family of four loved everything about our stay at the Rock House. Amy communicated all necessary information in advance of our stay, and the house met all of our expectations based on the information presented online. We cooked several meals in the well-stocked kitchen, and the washer and dryer were very helpful. I commented several times that this was the best stocked rental property we’ve ever stayed ay (e.g., seasonings, paper towels, towels/dish towels, trash bags, etc.). We enjoyed meeting Mr. John and chatting with him as well. He showed my husband around the property, including how to access the river/swimming hole. We swam a couple of times and fished with no luck of catching. The natural spring water in Shop Creek was perfectly clear and cool on a hot summer day. We had plenty of space and comfort in the cabin as well for our family of four. We used this Parthenon cabin as a central location for two hikes (Hawksbill Crag and Lost Valley) and two day trips to Branson. Jasper is in close proximity (6 miles) with restaurants and a grocery store that had everything we needed. Thank you so much to Amy and John for their hospitality. The cabin exceeded our expectations and we absolutely plan to come back soon!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Host was very helpful and accommodating. Loved having coffee on the porch in the morning while listening to birdsong. Will be back!

The Rock House was a great base for our weekend of hiking. The kitchen is well equipped. Since we had 2 couples, it was great to have two full baths. The beds were comfortable. Close to stores/restaurants in Jasper, and an easy drive to great hiking.

We loved our stay here. This was the perfect house to stay in to access hiking and off-road trails. The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We also loved walking the property and exploring the river that is within a 10 minute walk from the house.

The property was amazing, as was the host. Very friendly, and extremely accommodating. Kitchen/cooking supplies were slightly limited and bed was uncomfortable. Host was unaware of the bed issue until we spoke on our way out and he said a new bed would be purchased immediately. Our family loved every minute of our stay and we will most certainly book with them again in the future.

This cabin was spotless and just perfect! The river running through the back of the property was beautiful and had a nice place to sit in the water or swim in a deeper spot. It was close to a grocery store, a hike, state park, and more river spots. We loved this place!

This property is between Jasper & Ponca AR. We enjoyed riding and looking. Drove to Branson for a one day trip, driving was easy. If you are looking for a place of rest and restoration, this would be the place.

Just what we expected

Amy (mgr) and John (owner) were both great and answered any questions we had. Loved the history of the area and the location was perfect for us going back and forth from Jasper and Ponca, and to other sites in the area. House itself gave us plenty of room and was well stocked. Will definitely stay again.

This property is just beautiful. Great location. Beautiful scenery. Great location to get out and explore and short driving distance to area attractions. The owners are the sweetest people you will ever meet. We had our 2 year old with us. His favorite part about vacation was playing in the river at The Rock House. We will definitely visit again!

I grew up about 100 miles north of this property. So, I knew what to expect from the region and the people. Ozarkers are nice and polite and the region is a place the entire family can have fun. The property owners were very nice and communicated well. The property itself was very well kept and is in great condition. Internet worked well and the river close to the house was beautiful. two thumbs up.

The property was beautiful surrounded, by mountains and pasture. The house was clean. Internet was spotty as well as TV coverage. Owners will stop by a few times, he was very friendly. We would stay here again.

We had a wonderful vacation in this beautiful, little-known jewel of the country. Our family loves to hike, and this quaint and cozy farmhouse was the perfect home base for our adventures into the Ozark Mountains. It is a short drive to several great, unspoiled hiking areas that led us to amazing waterfalls, caves and rock formations. The hosts were great communicators and very responsive. John was super friendly and has some interesting stories and excellent history of the area. The property is on the river and my daughters got a big kick out of watching the cows. We enjoyed a bonfire one night under the stars. The house is clean and immaculately kept, and my only critique is that the mattress downstairs is not great (it sinks in the middle). The nearby town of Jasper only has one real restaurant and one grocery store, so this is pretty rural and a great place if you want to get away from the congested city or suburbs. The cell phone coverage is spotty, but they do have WiFi. I highly recommend it and hope to return sometime when the fall color is in full force.
