Being in Hawaii alone is breathtaking, but to have this house and this view just made our trip that much better. This house is even more beautiful in person!! It’s an actual dream home, I can’t recommend it enough. Or family of 16 fit perfectly and everyone was so impressed by how gorgeous it was. The management team was also so amazing and helpful every step of the way. Highly recommend to anyone taking a big group trip!!

We stayed here with 3 teenagers and three small children. The pool was great and the view of the water from the backyard was amazing. We loved the kitchen and the master bedroom suite. Had one question for management and they responded very quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

This is the hands down the finest property we’ve stayed. Every thing about it was perfect. There is literally 2 of everything! An abundance of beach towels and the media room was great for enjoyment t of movies at the end of the night! The response from management was extremely timely even on New Year’s Eve night and day. We were a family of 7 adults. Everyone had a wing. I can’t say enough about it. Worth every penny!

Great property for large family! Two dishwashers, two washer/dryers, TONS of towels and a huge refrigerator! We were a party of 11 and the space was awesome. We spent days in the pool, watched surfers and dolphins, and the property is perfectly located near everything! We'll be back!

This spacious home is located right on the edge of the water providing glorious views and the sound of the sea throughout the day. The home is beautifully equipped with top of the line kitchenware, table top, bedding and furniture. The "theater" room was a bonus. Though we worried about noise from the busy road adjacent to the property, the home was very quiet and peaceful. Terrific location convenient to activities and shopping.

Hale Pua is an extraordinary resort home that hosted four families and a total of 13 people very well. We love big kitchens for our family reunions and this one was perfect. The pool was a real plus for our young children for there are no children friendly beaches nearby. Great WIFI! Home needs some TLC for its equipment... main refrigerator not working properly... temperature reading wrong, not maintaining temp for standard groceries, ice maker not working. AC in Master Bedroom did not work. Back patio sprinklers come on in the middle of the day. Hot tub is very slow to heat. Master Bedroom Shower Heads were broken. Good location as a KONA "basecamp"...easy to get into town, head to nearby attractions, and right on the ocean. We arrived a couple of days early to get to know the area. The hotel we were staying at had a 11 am departure rule and we were unable to get into the home before 4pm. Same with our COSCO grocery concierge which created frustration for us and the concierge. Hale Pua was perfect for eight adults and two little ones. The proximity to town and to swimming/hiking areas was perfect. The property managers were very responsive and attentive. we will hopefully stay here again!

The owners thoughtfully left everything needed including a bag of coffee for that first day! The kitchen space was perfect for making and serving meals for a crowd. We had a personal chef one day and he had everything he needed and it was great to have a large enough table for us all to sit and enjoy a perfect meal outside. We could not have enjoyed it more!

Our family enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean, gorgeous sunsets and falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the surf. The kids enjoyed traversing the rocks below and explore the many sea creatures in the tide pools. The management (Nick) was prompt and attentive; accommodated a later check out which was really appreciated as we had a late flight out. We have stayed in multiple vacation homes and this is one we would definitely return to!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It's hard to put into words our experience at Hale Pua. I'll start with beautiful, memorable, and fantastic. We were met by Nick who walked the house with us and showed us around. The house is not 'modern' in style, but it is beautiful, clean, spacious, and has a great open floor plan ideal for large groups that like to be 'together'. We had 17 people. A mix of adults and kids. There are five bedrooms with master beds, one room with two singles, another room with a pull out couch. One of the master bedrooms has a pull out couch in it. For us and the mix of kids and adults... the sleeping worked out. A lot of our older kids liked to sleep on the couches. I have stayed in a lot of homes with large groups and this home by far was the most prepared for its visitors. There was plenty of bath towels, linens, toilet paper, dishes, pots, pans, trash bags...... there were even spices and some coffee there. We went grocery shopping for food items but a lot of the 'basic' things you need to cook were already there. So impressive. (We have stayed at a place with 18 people that had 2 trash bags for us when we arrived.) multiple fridges, two washers, two dryers, two dishwashers..... completely set up for large groups. The location is perfect in Kona. Can't say it much better. Airport - 25 minutes, downtown Kona - 5 minutes, volcano - 90 minutes, Hilo less than 2 hours. And the best part.... the view and backyard. The pictures you see online do not lie!!! It's just amazing. We were in awe everyday just hanging out back. We didn't even use the back of the house (game room and movie room). The pool and hot tub were great, plenty of lawn chairs and outside seating, huge glass doors to open the whole house up. AC in each bedroom was perfect. We had one AC that didn't work and the landlord responded promptly that same day to fix it. Lastly, the landlord did 'hover'. I could say more..... If we go to Hawaii again, I will be

BUT, they said if we admitted to damages, we would not be charged and insurance company would pay and we would get our deposit back. Unbelievable. We fought it and got our deposit back but this whole business ruined any memories. BEWARE!

Our stay at Hale Pua made our first trip to Hawaii an especially memorable one. This ocean-front home met and exceeded our expectations. Vacationing with several other couples, we all had enough private space plus large gathering areas when we were spending time together. We absolutely love to cook (yes, even on vacation) and this well-appointed, spacious kitchen had everything we needed to prep and dish up some incredible meals, using ingredients from the nearby local markets. Great to not be elbow to elbow and even better to have 2 dishwashers, which made clean-up fast and easy. We were lucky to be able to sit almost every day on the lanai and see whales surfacing out on the ocean in what felt like a private getaway. It’s nice that the bedrooms have an A/C option, but we loved having the windows open to the natural breezes and sounds of the surf. When we ventured out, we really enjoyed Huggos for fine dining, lucked into a fun night with live music at Gertrude’s Jazz Bar and brought back some incredible honey from Big Island Bees.

There is multiple delightful inside and outside space for us to enjoy each other's company, yet be able to have time to ourselves in various areas of the home and grounds. We enjoyed meals cooked in the spacious kitchen while eating in the inviting lanai (dining area) overlooking the pool and Pacific ocean. The setting made us feel that we were in our own secluded area. Hale Pua is conveniently located for restaurants, grocery shopping, and all activities which a family may want to enjoy. We have been blessed to gather our family at multiple locations, but this experience will definitely be at the top of the most memorable gatherings. The property was beautiful and just as described in the listing. Lots of room for at least 12 people. Kitchen is huge and has everything you could possibly need. Our only issue is that in October it was very hot and the main house doesn't have air conditioning. The bedroom units are good, but weren't quite able to keep up. I'm sure it's not an issue in the cooler months. Regardless, we would definitely choose to stay at the property again!
