After a bit of a rough start we overall had a great trip. Shortly after our arrival while getting unpacked and touring around, the gardener's showed up and were mowing the lawn ect. No big deal, we just stayed inside and continued to get settled. When I heard the leaf blower I looked out the window to see a big cloud of dust and rocks being blown right into my car. A bit later while having dinner on the deck, we decided to put the umbrella up to see eachother better. The deck stairs near the table don't have a railing and as I steped back to get out of the way of the umbrella I fell down the stairs and hurt myself pretty good. Later while watching TV in the living room the ants started to appear. A carpenter ant infestation. We just kept seeing and killing them. I vacuumed out under and in the couch (quite a bit of crumbs) and contacted Steve. He was very responsive and droped some traps at the door for us to place around and offered to have someone come the next day to clean/treat. We decided to let the traps do their work rather than have to deal with having someone clean while we were there. The rest of the stay was thankfully much better after the rough start. Beautiful views and great memories with the kids. We enjoyed the dock and being on the lake the most. We got to enjoy a fire on the beach and making smores. The house was well stocked. We did still deal with the ants the whole time but again we declined the offer of further intervention. Overall a great trip.

This little gem on Mason Lake is truly paradise! It's so peaceful and relaxing, and the view is incredible. It was hard to leave and we miss it already. The beds and sheets were SO comfortable, along with how quiet it was...it was the best night's sleep we've ever had away from home! The kitchen was set up with all the amenities of home, the living room with fireplace was very inviting and comfy, the outside deck was where we spent our afternoons enjoying the view and playing cards, and the lake was just what the dog ordered with lots of swim time. Steve was an excellent host and was always available to answer the questions we had. We ventured out a few times to explore since the area was newer to us. There is a great dog park near The Salmon Center in Belfair if you bring your dog and want to give them a little field time. We splurged and went to Hama Hama Oyster Saloon and The Hardware Distillery, both were excellent. We look forward to our next visit!

We loved this place so much, we are hoping to make this an annual trip. It took us 2 days to get there, but well worth it. The owner was fantastic. Nothing negative to say at all.

I really enjoyed having a den with a bedroom as a wing to the house. My niece and her two littles had privacy. My guy and I had ours too. The option of exiting out the utility room really made it easy to keep the house clean. We are all a no show household and I hate entering on carpet. Love a good mudroom! Nice quiet place. Everything you need. The host was very communicative. I left some items in the dresser, and he arranged to send them back. We would come again and hopefully next time we go in the very clean lake.

We loved staying at Steve’s Lake house, it was such a nice getaway from home. We look forward to going back in the future during the Summer so we can enjoy the water.

Friend and I stayed at property for a Kayak Fishing tournament. Was roomy and spacious. Very clean and welcoming. We felt it had everything we needed. It would be great for entertaining.

This was great to just get away. The property was quiet and well maintained. They even had dog towels for our little dog. We did go in the cold season but it was nice to walk on the dock and you can’t beat the view.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Well stocked, well appointed. Lovely little gas fireplace, beds are very comfy. Steve went out of his way to communicate with us. He was great even when I told him I had a little cooking accident in the kitchen and he’ll have to paint the ceiling☹️

This is our second time staying in the Mason Lake house for new years. We love it and are very comfortable there. Two teenagers look forward to this trip. 16 year old sleeps on the roll-out couch (in a room that has a door to close) and she said it is quite comfortable. Steve is very helpful and attentive... offered to make us a fire in the firepit on New Years but we were too cozy playing our games inside! Thanks for sharing this fabulous house with us!

This property had several pros and cons. Very clean for a older place. Pros: Clean, roomy, separate spaces, great view. Cons: Very Drafty and the furnace controls kept reducing temp to way low of a comfortable temp and we had to stay on top of it. The house floors are very un level, the decks have safety issues with boards not fastened down properly, The beds were so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep at all. The stairs to the water were very steep and slick. The driveway to the property was not easy to exit due to being very tight to back up and or turn around.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. The home is large and open with almost a secondary space that includes a separate enterence, porch, bathroom bedroom and sink/side bar. It would suit the needs for two couples or large family to stay. Since it was just my wife and I we closed off the other section. We enjoyed the dock that has Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs and fireplace on shore. My wife caught 5 little bass to my 1, all of which we released. The living space was comfortable while cooking playing games and lounging in front of the gas fireplace. Steve was very communicative and the check in/out process was a breeze. We would be happy to stay again.

My family and I had an event near the cabin for our daughter and we decided to make a trip out of it. The house was immaculate and the view AMAZING! Wish it was warmer out so we could jump off the dock and enjoy the sun, but we did enjoy watching a rain storm from the comfort of the living room. The kitchen was fully stocked and for a family of 7 we had a lot of room. We enjoyed board games and did two of the puzzles that were offered at the house. We would definitely come back!

We really enjoyed staying at this property. The location is secluded enough that there is little traffic or road noise to disturb sleep. The beds were very comfy with lots of extra pillows. We utilized the kitchen every day for cooking breakfast, as well as a couple of evening meals. There is plenty of cookware and dishes. Also, there is a Keurig coffee maker, but be sure to bring your own pods. There is a highchair if you need for your little ones. We did all of or grocery at the Wal-Mart in Shelton. Right across the street from the Wal-Mart is a Fred Meyer store, if you prefer. The water tastes great straight from the tap--no need for bottled water. The shower water pressure is great for bathing, as well as plenty of hot water. The property is a bit unusual in that it has two living spaces, which is ideal for when family or friends want some distance/privacy. There is also a washroom with an adequate washer and dryer. But, what sets this property apart is the access to the lake, which is literally just a few steps from the door of the house. It was too cold to swim, but I especially enjoyed sitting on the dock in the morning and just listening to the sounds of the lake. The sounds are amplified coming across the water, and when the wind is still, you can hear birds chirping and occasionally the voices of people talking across the lake, and the gentle lapping of the water against the shore. As the sun rises and hits the water, you can see steam fog come up, which is just gorgeous! I can't say enough about our host. Steve was perfect. I called him a couple of times and he was always courteous and informative. One day when the air quality wasn't good (due to wildfires in Washington, Oregon, Canada and elsewhere), he told me there was an air purifier on one of the closets, which we put to good use. We would easily stay there again, and hope to do so in the not too distant future.

Overall, it was very comfortable. Access to the lake was good with a great dock. Our puppies loved the water. Owners were very responsive. We would go back.

Fabulous time!

Mason Lake is beautiful and the house feels surprisingly spacious, with the open common areas and second living room. We enjoyed lounging on the deck and out on the dock. The owners live in a house directly next door that shares the side of the yard and overlooks the back area and the house.

We had the best time at Steve’s lake house. It was very clean and the grounds were beautiful. Lots of comfortable seating inside and outside. Can’t beat access to a private dock! The water was perfect for swimming. I would recommend grabbing groceries before arriving since the nearest grocery store is 20+ mins away and you’ll want to spend as much time as possible by the water. We would love to return!

Excellent property to spend days on the lake. The house is spacious and inviting, the outdoors is well suited for lake activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, swimming and just enjoying the location plus thoughtfulness of the owners.

This lake front home was a perfect getaway for family. The house provides comfortable beds and lounging areas inside and out. Barbq on the deck with outdoor eating and views of the lake activities was fun. The lake is beautiful .We enjoyed swimming , kayaking and fishing and an evening bonfire with s’mores . Communication with the host was prompt and informative. I Recommend this lake retreat but add that there are steps to take to reach the beach so a warning to all that need easy access

Everything went smoothly. Comfortable, cozy and fun getaway at my favorite lake. I would highly recommend to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lake is lovely and we loved hanging out at the dock. The kitchen had everything needed and the house was sparkling clean. Steve was a friendly, kind, responsive host!
