The house was perfect for a weeklong holiday in the country for our family (2 young kids and 1 set of grandparents). The house was very comfortable, with a spacious and relaxing living room area, and a kitchen that is stocked with lots of cooking equipment, which was great for us. The bedrooms were warm and comfy, and we enjoyed taking it easy and walking down the country road that the house is on each day to get outside and enjoy the woods.
The location is great - just a 7-minute drive to Sharon Market, which, for a family-owned grocery store, is a somewhat surprisingly large with a great and wide selection of foods. The house is also close (10-15 mins) to a couple of nice state parks for hiking and also close to Salisbury and Millerton, slightly larger, but still very picturesque towns with a bit more commercial activity (cafes, restaurants, etc.) than Sharon.
Gary was very friendly and great as a host. Very responsive to any questions or concerns we had, both via text and through phone calls. We were overall very happy with our stay.

Visiting family in Lakeville. Stayed at this comfortable home outside of Sharon. Audubon site is beautiful. Walks from the home lead to beautiful views of the greater Hudson valley.

This house provided the perfect location for 3 friends to use as a home base for our high school reunion. Very close to Sharon and nearby towns. Gary greeted the first to arrive to give a tour and answer questions. The listing showed air conditioning and we assumed that the whole house had a/c, but only one bedroom had a unit. It didn’t matter because the property is beautifully shaded and all the windows provided plenty of cool air. We were very comfortable. Thank you, Gary!

Very nice
Thank you for letting us stay here. I do want to note there were some issues with cleanliness. There was really bad dust and dead moths. I tried messaging the owner about checking in and checking out but I never heard back. I don’t mind run down, but there were a lot of bugs and dust.

Writers' Retreat Success!
This house is in a gorgeous area and very convenient from NYC. It was super clean and Gary checked in on us several times. The three main bedrooms are great. The upper-story bedroom would be best for kids.

Fun Fall Foliage!
I spent a the weekend with my 3 college girlfriends and had a great time
In the Sharon area. The location has a gorgeous look out point up the hill to the side of the house the house. It is also close drive to a number of scenic walks. It’s also close by to a number of farm markets. We ventured into Millerton NY and found McEnroes farm market and enjoyed food and drinks from the Cider Garden! The house itself is large and has enough rooms to spread out. It’s an older house on the block but was comfortable for our purposes. Be forewarned that the cellular service in the mountainous area is spotty so definitely connect to the house wifi and make sure you load your gps inside the house and take screen shots before venturing out.

My family stayed here for about a week and enjoyed it. The house and property were well maintained, comfortable and nice. Gary was also a very attentive and friendly host. Definitely recommend!

Incredibly clean and huge home. Great location near the Audubon, and an ideal location for my family. Good-sized bedrooms separate from the spacious living and dining areas. Lots of cozy nooks for curling up with a book, and tons of fun details to spot all over the house. Comfortable beds, fluffy towels, and complete kitchen with all the dishes/pans/etc... you could possibly need for prepping food. One minor con is weak cell-phone signal, however, my experience is that is typical for the area. It was more than made up for with reliable and fast internet.

It was a relaxing area for walking around and hiking. That part of Connecticut is lovely for driving around too.The house is spacious. There were 3 of us in a house for 8 people (there’s extra fee per night for each person over 2 people). We used just 2 of the 4 rooms. There are 2 bedrooms which use a shared bathroom in the hallway. A master bedroom has its own carpeted bathroom and a carpeted walk-in closet. There’s also a bedroom in the attic, accessible via one of the bedrooms. The large windows in the bedrooms and living rooms are nice - it’s nice to be able to look at the trees. Hardly any cars go by the dead-end road in front, so it feels private. There’s a sunroom which has glass - in the fall or summer it must be lovely looking at the woods. Gary is very interesting to talk to. And he was very nice about having logs for the fireplace. That was my favorite part in the winter evenings, sitting in front of the fireplace!

Expectations Exceeded
Plenty of space, plenty to see. We loved it. Could only have enjoyed it more if we had stayed longer. Descriptions were all accurate, and Gary is easy to do business with. Would recommend and return.

This CT home was a peaceful, relaxing stay. There are several bedrooms and the location is beautiful. Gary the owner was responsive and kind. The internet worked well. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

Spacious home on beautiful property.
We were four female friends attending a prep school reunion so we did not spend much time at the house. The house is spacious, reminiscent of the 1960s. This property provided what we needed: comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms, linens, towels, a well-equipped kitchen where we could prepare breakfast. The upstairs bed room would be ideal for kids, the drawback for us is that it has to be accessed through one of the bedrooms and up the stairs. We opted instead to use the futon in the sun room,which was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
