Great staff, and quite area.

Staff was great, bed was comfortable, surrounding was very quietly over night, there was enough of parking place.
It was to far from any other place to go out for a drink (without driving).

Breakfast and meals were good. Personal were always friendly and helpful.
Quiet location.
We were forced to pay an extra "energy" cost of 5.00€ per night on the spot.
We paid, but NOT willingly!!!
It was not the money, it was the principle.
We argued the point that you can not charge guests this extra cost as the hotel sees fit. The manager told us the "energy" charge might be 10.00€ next week per night to offset the cost. THIS IS WRONG!
The hotels need to inform their guest that they will be charging an extra charge for energy costs before they arrive, NOT surprise them with the extra cost after they are there, holding them hostage!!!

I feel a bit odd writing this review as my family and I were at the tail end of a long vacation which spanned several countries. Bottom line, this was a one day and done visit - I do wish we could have spent more time here. The area, and the hotel grounds are quite impressive. The little down of Waldeck in the Upper Palatinate is something taken from a post card. The surrounding area is .. well, down right gorgeous.
Wifi on our bottom floor suite of rooms was non existent. I can understand that may who are going to this venue want to unplug - but a couple of inexpensive wifi extenders would have helped immensely.

nice little out of the way hotel with great friendly staff and a good safe vibe.. I've stayed there before and would stay there again..
