Highland Cottage est un chalet récemment mis à jour sur la magnifique île James, une banlieue du centre-ville de Charleston à seulement 6,4 km. Nous sommes également à 6 miles de la plage festive de Folly. Le chalet est équipé d'une cuisine à service complet, laveuse et sécheuse et grill extérieur. We’ve stayed in many rental condos & homes. We don’t like to leave negative reviews because we don’t want to hurt feelings or ratings. But we personally use other’s reviews for decisions. My husband & I spend too much time & money on vacations to waste either. This is a duplex, which is not indicated in the listing. It wasn’t a problem for us, but it might be a deciding factor for others. The unit smells musty. The owner said it was because the heat must have been turned on the first time this season. However, each day we left and came back (within a week), it still smelled musty. The floors looked clean, but left the bottom of our socks black. There is one small tv in the den, none in bedrooms. All of the kitchen cabinets were low, which meant we had to bend over constantly to reach cookware and dinnerware. With a bad back, that was limiting. Each bed is full size, kinda small for 2 adults. The unit is centrally located to the beach and Charleston. The washer/dryer are nice. Beach chairs (straps broken) & towels were useful. Judy, the handy-woman, is very helpful. It’s a fairly quiet neighborhood. Folly beach is about 6 miles away.
Attention ALL VRBO landlords, We pay a cleaning fee. Therefore, we no longer will remove or wash bed linens when we leave, especially at 4 AM to catch a flight. Nor will we haul the trash cans to the curb & back. We’re on vacation. The cost was reasonable, but for the musty odor, we won’t be back.

This location is in a safe, quiet neighborhood. Wonderful BBQ restaurant in the back door. Wood for fire pit outside. Quick drive to Charleston or folly beach. Kit is wonderful to deal with. We really enjoyed our stay here.

This is a great place to stay, but you really need a car if you want to get around Charleston. It's about a 15 minute drive to the historic part.
The place is great - 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Pretty quiet area. They have everything for a nice stay. Clean and well- maintained.

This place met all of our needs from the location to all of our activities. The kitchen is will stocked with appliances and even comes with outdoor grill and a fire pit if you choose to use it. The beds are very nice. All in all you couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

This property was situated so well for us to be up to 25 minutes away from all activites in and around Charleston. The property was very clean and quiet.

The place was easy to find, super clean and welcoming. I wish we would have had time to go to Folly Beach. It was a quick trip. If I had to come to the area I would stay again. Having 2 bathrooms was great for privacy with 2 couples.

Before booking the Highland Cottage, I read every review. Our stay exceeded all expectations: 1) perfect location smack dab in between downtown and Folly Beach; 2) conveniently near Walgreens, Walmart, and several amazing restaurants; 3) clean; 4) stocked with full size shampoo, body wash, sun screen, bottled water, ice machine, full kitchen, games, extension cords; 5) the outdoor area has a functional shower, fire pit, dining table, and kids picnic table--in a shaded area-- AS WELL AS a grill, bikes, ice chest, and 4 beach chairs; 6) a pack n play and high chair were available and functional for the 7 month old with us; 7) well lit at night time; 8) every detail is taken care of---washing powder, plastic baggies, bath towels, beach towels, dishes, glasses,and microwave. I WOULD STAY here again in a heartbeat!! One suggestion if you plan to use the pack n play, bring a crib sheet as the mattress is well used! Thank you, Kit, for providing an amazing home away from home!

We stayed june 2-7 and had a wonderful time. Very clean, had everything we could think of and more. The area was so quiet and we enjoyed sitting on back porch watching squirrels and easy walk to some restaurants. I highly recommend.

Everything about this place was excellent. The very convenient location, comfortable beds, the back deck and well kept property made for a great stay. We even tried out the tandem bike riding back to the nearby Dock Street park!

close to downtown and Folly Beach ,host easy to reach with and helpful in suggestion of eateries and attractions to visit ! . Nice back deck great for AM coffee. Would definitely stay here again !!

It’s in a perfect location. The home itself is very very nice. It is private love the patio and it was very easy to get to Folly Beach. We also had a boat and it was very nice and roomy and the host was amazing.

Clean, remodeled attractively decorated cottage. Kitchen was fully furnished with everything you would need to cook. Even had coffee to get us going. Big LG washer and dryer. Beds and pillows were comfortable, lots of towels, including beach towels. Cleaning and toiletries supplies were more than adequate. Outdoors had a Weber grill and a fire pit with wood provided. Two picnic tables made you feel like you were camping. Two beach chairs were provided. Easy off-street parking for two cars in this quiet neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

We very much enjoyed our short stay here. Convenient location between Charleston and Folly Beach allowed us to visit both easily. Accommodations are simple but very functional and comfortable. Only thing the tub and toilet had some leftover hair, though it was obvious they had been wiped down. Otherwise everything was very clean.

Perfect size for our family (2 couples). Loved that we each had our own bathroom. Also loved the outdoor seating area, which was perfect to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. There is a nice fire pit to enjoy in the evening as well. Also a short drive to downtown. Would definitely stay again!

Easy access to downtown Charleston & Folly Beach. The house had everything we could need. Make sure to go to Martin's BBQ & Baguette Magic, both within walking distance!
