Cedar key is a small island town great for fishing and hiking. Enjoying nature! Some of the best seafood I have ever had and I am a Florida girl! The condo was right on the water with stunning sunrise and sunset views! It had enough room for everybody and more! A great place to stay!

The property location was lovely, but the upkeep of the property left something to be desired. The Jacuzzi tub in the master bath did not work. The Jacuzzi tub was in dire need of cleaning with what looks like black mold around the Jets and the grout of the tub, a blind was torn off of the back door, a lightbulb was missing over the island in the kitchen. The controls for the lighting and fan in the master bedroom we’re not working until batteries were brought to us to replace the owner did communicate with me, when I voiced my complaints , and seemed unaware of the condition of her property, which she said she had owned for 4 1/2 years. Again the location was great, but not what I expected at the nightly rate I paid.

We stayed here for the opening of an art show in the gallery of the Cedar Key Art Center. This was two condos combined into one spacious unit with three bedrooms plus a loft over the master bedroom, plenty big for 4 couples. Some guests have mentioned that the decor was dated, but we thought it was very nice for the price that we paid. It's a corner unit directly on the Gulf and the views were even better than the photos.

Pack accordingly bc there are 4 flights of stairs.
We planned ahead and left some of the heavier things we’d need on the boats (drinks, extra water, coolers, etc) in trucks downstairs so we didn’t have to move them too much.

We loved the location, within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops. When not eating or shopping, we enjoyed watching the dolphins from the comfortable deck. Our younger family members put their kayaks and paddle board in the water just behind the condo. The pool was a great asset for all ages, as the water behind the condo isn’t deep enough for swimming. We took an excursion on a clam boat and learned all about the local clam industry, which was very interesting and innovative. Captain Bobby brought our clams to a restaurant where we ate “our catch”. The condo is very comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved staying in Margaritavilla.

We had a wonderful time! The condo was perfect! Rhonda was very helpful with our tv situation and also told us the best places to eat and she was spot on! The deck was our favorite place. We watched the dolphins play and the sun come up!

This was our first visit to Cedar Key and we will definitely be back. The location of the property was amazing! It was a short walk to most locations, including the park on the beach, but it was nice to have the rented golf cart to see more of the quaint island. Kelly was easy to reach and quick to respond! Watching the dolphins every evening was fun!

We loved the low-key vibe of Cedar Key. But there were still plenty of things to do to keep our family entertained. Kayaking across the bay to the next island was awesome. We watched dolphins play from the back porch every morning. Renting a golf cart for a day was also a great way to beat the heat and see the whole island. There was an issue on the island with internet that week but our host was very responsive and resolve the issue. Overall it was a great week!

This vacation was even better than I had hoped it would be. The location was perfect! Everything was within walking distance, and everyone we met was so friendly to us. There was never a dull moment, with all the activity of the dolphins and the birds, not to mention the fights between the crabs on the beach that we saw from our deck. Everyone was able to unwind in such a pleasant atmosphere. It was so very hard to leave. Our host was amazing, very easy to access, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to stay there.

Despite the foul weather and the boat never leaving the trailer, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We spent many hours on the porch watching the dolphins feed during the day and the lightening shows at night. The unit was spacious and comfortable and had everything that we needed.

We visit Cedar Key every year. We usually stay at another condo up the road. We decided to switch to get more space and sacrifice the elevator. We were not disappointed! The only time the elevator was really missed was upon arrival because we had a lot of groceries. But it was worth it for the view. We saw dolphins every day, more than once a day! You can walk to the playground and strip of restaurants and shops on the water. The pool was nice in the late afternoon and we socialized with some of the owners. Very nice and friendly bunch. Plenty of parking. There were always extra spaces at all the buildings. Some of the outlets didn't work, but one of the owners was working to rectify that.
Great overall, we will definitely stay here again. Plenty of space for our group of 7.

The upstairs half bath had not been cleaned in a very long time with dirt on the floor and mold/dirt line in toilet. Very little dish soap; one dishwashing tablet, no bathroom cleaner. Floors and carpet were so dirty your socks turned black. Legos and candy wrappers were found under one of the beds. Showers/tubs had mildew in them.

This is a great place to stay. I have stayed in Cedar Key many times in the last 16 years, but usually in a hotel. The view from the 3rd floor balcony is one of the best on the island. We saw dolphins every day and watched the fishing boats come and go. There were a few small maintenance issues that were tended to quickly. Kelly was very prompt responding to my questions and concerns. I highly recommend this property.

We enjoyed Maragritavilla’s spacious accommodations. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the extras, like TP, paper towels, dishwasher detergent were provided that lasted the length of our stay- not just “starters,” which was really nice. The host was extremely communicative. It was a great experience.

This property was absolutely the definition of serene. The views, the people, the restaurants, shops, and anything else in the agenda are within walking distance. The locals are the coolest people, and as hospitable as they come.
The property itself exceeded any expectations of an Island condo we could have imagined. Being only the two of us for our first trip to Cedar Key we didn't utilize all the ammentities this property offered but as many as we could within our 3 days. I'd recommend it to anyone for almost any kind of getaway, and already planning a couples trip with friends for later in the year! Margaritavilla is the most comfortable rental we've come across in the seven years we've been married. Thanks Kelly!!

Our organization has been going out to Cedar Key for 20+ years for our annual corporate retreat. We've stayed at the Margaritaville unit more times than I can remember. It's an AMAZING unit. It's extra spacious and will accommodate so many people. Clean, inviting, and worth every penny.

This is a great condo unit with an incredible view. Other than a few simple things that need to be addressed we would definitely stay there again….even with the 3 flights of stairs climb. Simply put all the mattresses on the property need to be replaced as well as all the white sheets. There were a lot of stains on both the mattresses and sheets which was not only nasty but really disappointing with all the great things that this condo offered. But there was no way any of us would have slept on any of the sheets and several mattresses. Good thing we brought our own sheets and had several air mattresses with us.

Spacious and light this apartment has a large deck to enjoy wonderful sunrises from. We loved seeing the dolphins, birds, dragonflies and bats from the comfort of the deck.
Kelly, the owner, was super quick to respond and very helpful with any enquiries and with organizing the maintenance team for minor repairs.
The kitchen/diner is well appointed making eating in very easy. From the apartment it's a short stroll into town where there are some great places to eat out.
Cleanliness was an issue, especially with bedding and bathrooms, and so I felt I couldn't rate this home as 5 Star.
Otherwise, it a great place and I wouldn't hesitate to book with this owner again.
Our wonderful memories of Cedar Key will help us as the cold dark nights of winter approach!

If the place was clean I would have been happy. The AC stopped working but Kelly had some one out that next morning, and it worked great, she was very responsive., even though it was late at night.
The dishwasher did not dispense the soap so we had to wash the dishes twice.

Quiet Little Gulf Gem
This house was great! The island is quaint and inviting. If you are one who likes to vacay with no frills, slow and easy and yummie little restaurants, this place is for you. The beach is tiny with minimal waves, so if you need big beach and waves, probably wouldn't recommend. If you have young children, however, it's awesome! The playground right at the beach is a plus. Also, renting a golf cart is a must. We parked our car and didn't drive it all week. Kelly was fantastic with communication. Hope to be back sometime soon! Thanks for sharing your home.
