This is, I believe, our fifth visit to North Captiva Island. It is a very special place indeed-if you have not been there before, make sure you understand with NCI is about and what makes it such a unique Florida destination. We have stayed in a different homes each time depending on our family number on that particular stay. This is a terrific place to stay. The home was exactly as portrayed on the VRBO site. It was spotless on our arrival and there is an abundance of everything you might need from kitchen items, games, beach stuff, linens, and much more. As we learned previously, bring twice the food and half the clothes and you will hit it about right with what you need to supply. The home is exceptionally spacious, well lit, and has a lot of great features in terms of the layout. It gives everyone a lot of space, with a perfect location on the island and it is set in a beautiful spot with fabulous views. Tortuga Properties does the day to day management and this was a real plus-they provided all the details well before arrival to get us ready, greatly facilitated our arrival-meeting the ferry in a driving rainstorm-checked in often, and were exceptionally responsive to my inquiries during the stay. The text messaging feature is critical as the cell signal is variable over the island. This will be a great home for family vacations-nothing is lacking. Highest recommendation-Enjoy!

Things that need attention: The pool screen had a tear and thus the pool was not as clean as it could have been. The pool toys were covered in mold likely because they were put away wet and left that way for quite a time. One of the golf carts seemed almost dangerous with how lose the steering was on it. There was a broken light fixture. There were little bugs in the kitchen and the loft. We reported this and someone came out and sprayed and that really helped! The walls need a good cleaning. The dining room chair seats were stained. The bed near the pool had sand on the sheets prior to our use. The code we were given to use at the club didn't work so we had to go to the office and they complained that we should have been registered and gave us a different code. I'm not sure if that was only for a day but it did not work for us either so we just went through the employee enterence to the pool to get in. The place worked for our family of 13. It was close to the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed.

We stayed at Serenity House for a week, beginning of Jan., 2022. We vacationed with our adult children and 2 great grand babies. The house was very well stocked with dishes, pots and pans and accessories, lots of towels including beach towels. Shampoo and conditioner in all the bathrooms. There was a little issue with tiny ants in the kitchen. There was a can of spray, and after serving a meal, we would spray the counters. That seemed to help. But I wouldn’t recommend leaving any food out unattended. The home was very comfortable and met our needs perfectly. The house managers were awesome, and if there was anything needed, they were on it immediately! We had a wonderful, relaxing week! Would highly recommend Tortuga Properties!!

The house and the island were beautiful. Service was terrible. The night before we were supposed to arrive they cancelled our arrivsl date to sunday instead of saturday. Kn sunday we did not get full use of the hoyse until 7:00 pm. One of the golf carts was broken the day after we arrived and never returned to us. The other one had defective breaks. No one told us we needed to make ferry and water taxi reservations acoupke of weeks in advance. No one told us restaurant reservations needed to be made at least a month in advance and only between 11 and 2 monday through friday.

We have been to North Captiva many times before. As we had a larger group this year, it was the first time we stayed at a different home. It is a great house. To give it a fair review - I will post the pro's and con's from our perspective. Kitchen: it was truly well appointed with every type of dish, utensil, pan, plates, cups, etc that you might need and with the openings into the dining areas - easy to use and you could stay connected. However, there was no pantry space for the food. We utilized a shelving unit in the kitchenette, but it was not ideal. As we cook every meal when we are there - this would be a huge benefit. Bedrooms/Bathrooms - plenty of towels for bath or beach provided. All were as stated in the description so we were pleased with the set-up. All rooms has dresser space available, but not all had closets available. Although the pool bathroom was great and came in very handy on the days we stayed at the pool - we were very relieved we did not have to use the bedroom on that level as it is dark and musty. Not at all like all the other bedrooms. Management - we had some initial miscommunications and challenges with pick-ups, however, when we called for anything after that - they were very responsive. Some of the issues should have been resolved if they had just done a quick walk-thru of the house to check for cleanliness and supplies indicated on the list to make sure all was as it should be. At the end of our stay - they had fixed all issues and taken care of any requests. Overall - we would definitely stay at the house again as it met all of our needs and provided the space we needed and allowed us the needed time with our extended family. Because of the kitchen set-up - we would not feel the need to bring so many items with us in the future. Thanks for letting us stay.

Fortunately there was a charcoal grill that I was more then happy to use... but would have been good to know in advance for charcoal and lighter fluid. My children and I thoroughly enjoyed our last minute getaway to North Captiva. Duncan was very helpful and was always available to assist the three of us on the island. The property was lovely and the exact escape that we needed. We enjoyed the pool, the beach, and the fun outdoor recreation area by the pool. Taking the golf cart to watch the sunset was one of our favorite activities. The house is very tidy and has absolutely everything that you need to relax and unwind. We had such a nice time visiting Serenity now, the house was the perfect size for our group of 12 (adults and children) and fit everyone well in the various sized rooms. The check-in and check-out process was super easy and the property managers did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The pool was great to have on-site and the location was great, would definitely stay here again.
