Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Staying at the Honeymoon Cottage makes us feel like locals. You can't see the ocean but you can hear it and it's a short walk to a beach where you are unlikely to see another person. The snorkeling, swimming, wading, cloud and star watching are all good. This is a residential area with no nearby stores or restaurants except for a few tiny places in nearby Anahola but the Cottage kitchen is well-equipped to to cook great meals. The location is convenient for exploring most of the island but, after staying here for 15 Octobers, we only leave to stock up on groceries, play golf, or see live music.

Honeymoon cottage has such a wonderful location and my new bride and I enjoyed a beach setting that we pretty much had to ourselves during our stay. The owners thought of so many details from beach chairs and towels, coolers, flashlights, kitchen items and bountiful greeting snacks and Hawaiian goodies. A few things could be updated and the owner stated he is remodeling soon, so these will be addressed. The communication was unbelievably quick and questions were answered and issues addressed. Will definitely look to stay here again on our return to Kauai.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’m sure this place would be perfect for some, but unfortunately it wasn’t for us. The pros are that this place is close to a beach. You can hear the ocean, but can only see it through the windows of the Owner’s home in front of the cottage. It has a nice living room area that feels open and airy. The Owner said it was a swimmable beach, but it looked a little rough – probably depends on time of year and there was not a huge sand part to the beach (more rocks). There are plumeria & hibiscus trees/bushes around the property which is very pretty. It has it’s own parking area and is tucked away in a residential area so it feels like a home. It’s perfect if you want to get away from the crowds. The cons are that it had very little ventilation and was like a hot box. There were only two workable fans in the home which were not high powered. The ceiling fans didn’t work well and the lights on them didn’t work. The Owner brought over an extra fan which helped some but it was still sweltering hot. We typically don’t need AC but this place needed at least 3 other high powered new fans to properly ventilate the place. Another con was that there were a lot of things that needed fixing. We had intended to cook meals here, but the fridge wasn’t cold, had broken shelves and had a strong stench which made all our food taste funny. Our butter was firm going into the fridge and then was so soft like we had left it on a counter, even after being in the fridge all day. We didn’t trust the other items we put in the fridge and ended up throwing out $70 worth of food and didn’t cook there. We had booked the place for 6 nights and ended up leaving once we got another place to stay so we only stayed 2 nights. We understand they didn’t want to refund us (although it would have been nice), but we were hoping they would at least reimburse for the food we lost. The p

Clean property in a great location (easy access to Kapa'a, and the north and south sides of the island). Some repairs needed (sliding screen and glass door to back patio) but overall the property was very clean and pleasant to stay in. Like all over the island there was a very punctual rooster who kept us tied to a morning schedule.

Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful private beach and sunrises. I would definently recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet retreat close to the water.

The terrace is great for sitting out at night and the best acai bowl on Hawaii (Kalalea Juice Hale) is just a 5 minute drive away. We enjoyed our time there so much and miss it already!

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I stayed here 9/18 and came back 3/19. A wonderful private cottage experience. Everything you need for a special getaway. Room for three including bath robes for all, beach towels and a guest package of chips chocolates nuts and bottles of island water. Also a nice size grill for all your grilling needs so you can enjoy meals at home. You are about 150 feet from a very private beach and from there you have an endless view of the Pacific ocean. I recommend watching the sun rise and don't forget to watch the moon rise if you are fortunate enough to there at the right time. One of the best times of our lives. Sincerely Monte

We liked the furnishing so much we purchased a desk and bedspread to match theirs! The management company was extremely helpful when we had a problem. They responded immediately. We would definitely stay again
