自らDIYで手を加えられた箇所があるという事でしたが、味のある内装で、かつ機能を果たしているし、古民家にマッチした感じが好印象でした。

Authentic Japanese house modified to include modern amenities- It is very nice.
The first floor has a wide reception area, and a shared living room, kitchen, with a washing area, bathroom and comfort room. There is a small garden, but you'd rather stay inside because the weather was so cold to be outside (late autumn). There are available bikes for free use :)
The rooms are shared, and I think just appropriate for the price.
The house is clean and amenities work just fine.
No dryer for clothes (well, for those who are staying for some days in autumn or winter).
The house is in the insides of the community, but google will lead you there. No worries :))

朝食が魚、野菜などバランス良く、おいしかった。洗濯乾燥がおふろの後、使用でき、そのまま寝れてスケジュール的に助かった。寝室が清潔だったのでほこりっぽい匂いがしなかった。エアコンが古くなかったので、ホコリが少なく、使用できた。。蚊取り線香とベープがおいてあったので、蚊が入ってきても、すぐに対応して寝ることができた。遅くなったのでセルフチェックインにしてもらえたが、スタッフの対応もよかった。
換気されていなく、もとは古いせいか、玄関から匂いがして第一印象が悪かった。リビングもほこりっぽかった。換気したくても、網戸がないところが多く、蚊も入って来て、十分に換気できなかった。セルフチェックインの玄関パスワードが、受付後の電話で、新たなパスワードになっていたため、翌朝、姉妹店での朝食時に行くとき施錠して、再度入れなくなった。もう少しパスワードが変わった事を強調して説明いただきたかった。

Great traditional guesthouse not too far from Nishi-Maizuru station (10-15mn walk). The private room is lovely, with fresh smell of tatami.
Jinbei and samue available on rent.
Bikes also available.
Nothing, everything was great. Just note that check in is done in a different place (2mn walk). But this is notified by email before check-in.

The hostel was comfortable and clean, the kitchen large and well equipped. Internet was good, and staff very nice and helpful.
U have to be very careful walking down the steep staircase to the bedroom, which isn’t unusual in Japan.

The room we booked was spacious. The house is cute, in a small town on a quiet street. There are a few restaurants nearby. The toilet and basins were newly renovated and very nice.
Something you need to know before booking is that the stairs to get to the bedrooms are very steep and therefore not accessible to anyone with mobility issues. The smell of the tatami was very strong in the room. Somehow I thought the room we booked would have access to the terrace / garden, but you can only see it slightly from the window at day time. The check-in was a bit too long and the explanations were overly complicated. The quality of your sleep will depend on the other guests and how noisy they are walking around, closing doors, talking etc.

It is a renovated old house, which is quite cool to stay. Located in a local small street, but walkable to a main street where there are quite some restaurants.
Our room is spacious, the futon is very comfy.
It is also handy for us to use the washing machine during our long journey, only 200 yen per wash.
Parking is just around 90m away.
We enjoyed a day in Maizuru with the free rental bike provided as well!
A very unpleasant check-in experience.
Once we arrived at the guest house with our rental car after 5 hours drive, we felt the receptionist was in a rush to do the check-in (we arrived at 5pm, which is the time frame that they open for check-in), she immediately suggested one of us should do the parking, and then asked me to enter and follow her to do the check-in, with the unclear information of parking given, my partner got lost on the roads in Maizuru, I wanted to locate where he is, in the meanwhile all that she cared about was only my residential address in my country.
At the end the parking was only 90m away, if she didn't try to save that 1 min to guide us parking clearly, everything would be so much more smooth.

Ancient look (all brand new), amenities almost all free, comfortable and quiet.
No plug next to you in the bed you must sleep backwards.
