The pillows could have been better.

The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed both the cooked breakfasts and two evening meals. The chef did a brilliant job of freshly cooking the meals and the wait was not long at all. The ambience in the restaurant was also very pleasant.
The local villagers who frequented the bar area were also very friendly which gave the hotel a welcoming and comfortable feel. We loved Blockley and would describe the village as the most peaceful place we have visited yet perfectly located to visit many popular places in the Cotswolds. Thank you for a lovely couple of days.
The decor in the room we stayed in could be improved upon although it didn’t bother us as we were not in the room much.

Leider wurde das Bett nicht gemacht, die dreckigen Tassen nicht ausgetauscht….ohne Begründung. Vom Service her hatte es eher den Charakter eines Hostels, wäre kein Problem bei entsprechendem Preis

Several areas need updating- chairs in dining room had ripped upholstery, broken faded decking at back sun terrace- this is a lovely area to sit.
Poor signage to dining room, bar area and doors to get to room outside main building.
Room above number 25 needs something done to floor boards or noise cancelling underlay. Noise from people just walking across room horrendous and kept us awake.

Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Receptionist wasn’t very welcoming or friendly. The shower didn’t drain well and there was no towel bigger than a hand towel.

Beautiful charming old building, comfortable spacious room and friendly welcoming staff. A really lovely village too.
Rather a lot of difficult stairs. We would request a ground floor room if we stayed again

The Breakfast and Evening meals were very well presented and enjoyable.
The bar was very comfortable and a great choice of drinks.
We found the bed too hard, but that a personal choice.

The friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Car parking on site and situated in a good position, convenient for Moreton in Marsh. The room was great with a lovely four poster bed and a good size shower. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Thanks for looking after us.

El hotel muy bonito. El lugar para cenar y desayunar muy bonito. La habitación grande. Estaba limpia la habitación. El desayuno bastante justo. No tenían leche caliente. Si quieres cafe con leche no vas a poder. El oueblo tranquilo para un paseo corto. Bastante silencioso
El precio bastante elevado y sin desayuno. Luego mirando el precio dos noches antes estaba a mitad de precio con desayuno. Sabiendo lo que pagamos nos podian al menos ofrecer el desayuno gratuito que eran 6 libras nada mas

There was a queue for toast as the two toasters were very slow (luckily there weren't many people in the restaurant at the time). However, the staff were very helpful and friendly.
We had stayed here 15 years before, but under the new ownership the standard had definitely gone down. The furniture is old and nothing matched. There was no information in the bedrooms (we had to ask reception for the wi-fi code). and when we returned on the first day, our bed had not been made (apparently we had to put a sign on the door, but nobody had mentioned this to us). The taps in the bathroom had a lot of limescale which could be cleaned very easily.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff were all very friendly and our room was fabulous. The food was exceptional. All freshly cooked and good value.

Lovely location, really wonderful staff, terrific Sri Lankan meal, bar is welcoming and lovely.
Clean.
Bed not great, pillows worse, shower took ages to get hot and poor water pressure. No hand towel.
Whole place is dated. Parking really hard to get into.

Hotel represents really good value for money. The rooms were basic but had everything you needed. Direct access to outside on the ground floor and rooms, as requested, were adjacent. Some noise from residents overhead due to very old property with creaking floor boards but was not intrusive. Very friendly staff and lovely pub on site with good food available.
Plumper pillows would be lovely. Bed was a little firm.

Lovely quiet, little village. Ate in bar and nice busy atmosphere. Excellent value for what we paid.

Staff extremely welcoming and helpful but not intrusive.
Since the Sri Lankan operators have arrived the cuisine is excellent. The Steaks in particular were great quality beautifully cooked and presented.
Nothing to not like but still plenty to do to bring some tired areas up to the standards which the new operators and owners seem to aspire to. Plenty of evidence of this intention during our visit.

Great value for money.Comfotable large room (upgraded). Breakfast served in a well appointed dining area. Full English was very good. Continental was also available. Would certainly return, and also recommend.
Light bulb was on its way out in the bathroom, which didn't bother us as there was good lighting from the mirror light. Informed hosts who thanked us and said that it would be replaced immediately.

Lovely location loved the venue rooms comfortable
There was a mix up with booking I'd booked twin room and it was full so gave us family room it was nice but not what we wanted, the staff was apologetic and gave us a meal on them, which was delicious.

Room was very comfortable and even though it looked out on to the road it was quiet.
Did not have breakfast as only served from 8am and I needed to be on the road at that time.
A full length mirror would have been useful and I was not able to get the dressing table mirror to open.

Parking at hotel appreciated, as little available in the village. Breakfast ok, but little choice on continental, toast or cereal only.

Went to bar on a Saturday night at 9.55pm and told service had stopped and we couldn’t have a drink. Disappointed that as residents and at that time on a Saturday night, couldn’t get a drink.

The hotel was in a fabulous location and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. We had dinner and the Sri Lankan meal was excellent. I am allergic to nuts and coconut and they cooked a special meal for me. The hotel was excellent value for money.
The only thing missing was a hairdryer in the room. I only found out once I had washed my hair and couldn't dry it.

The hotel was lovely , Olay worldly , the village was lovely, the staff were friendly, kind and helpful, and the food we had was great, we had the Sri Lanken 3 course special, I can highly recommend it, overall great
