We loved Heaven's Gate. Great home in a beautiful location.

The sound view from this property is amazing! It was very spacious and was the perfect spot for our large family gathering. Walking to the ocean side is not really an option for most people. But it is just a short drive away. The kitchen was well stocked making it easy to prepare meals for a large group. Enjoyed the theater. Spent a lot of time in the pool & hot tub. Had a great vacation here. The name Heaven’s Gate is very appropriate!

It's been hard to move from dealing with Hatteras Realty to Vacasa, which is a nationwide firm. Many times I end up talking to someone in who knows where that has no idea about the house or the area. However, after not getting satisfaction, I asked them to have someone from the local area contact me. Tom responded immediately and took care of what I needed. The folks on Hatteras Island have always been great to deal with.
By the way, the house is spectacular and well-equipped. Even when we had a few needs, the local folks responded within an hour or two. Just goes to show that even when you get bought by the a large corporate entity, you can still do your best to show excellent service. Thanks!

10 bedrooms each with their own bathroom. One bedroom is a bunk room, the others are queen beds. The kitchen is perfect for a large group cooking together. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, utensils, knives, bowls, servers, etc. Large pantry. A dozen cook tops. Ample room to park cars. Lots of seating in the theater. Very pretty perch above all of the decks that is just a fabulous spot for the morning coffee. The place feels newer/nicer than most homes I've rented in OBX (many!).
The property is on a bit of a point with views in multiple directions. We rented a fleet of SUPS, Kayaks, boogie boards, and beach chairs/umbrellas from Island Bicycles and they were there when we arrived. Several of us kite and windsurf and the location serves many points of wind. 3 or 4 long tacks upwind puts you into the Buxton Slicks for flatwater fun. Just to the north and not too far offshore is water deep enough for foiling. We fished from kayaks and there was plenty of action using soft plastics and 1/4 oz jig heads.
The 3/8 mile walk to the ocean is pretty and is partly on a boardwalk.... or a short drive to a parking area.

Everything about this house is beautiful. The very minor problems we experienced were fixed on the day we asked for maintenance. The views from every room were spectacular.
