Nice house for families.

Our group was two women (best friends) and five children. We loved staying at Bear Hug Lodge! While we did spend time at the lake, there was enough to do at the lodge that we could hang out there while the kids played outside, watch movies, or play video games. Everything was incredibly clean, the kitchen had everything needed for cooking, the jacuzzi was perfect, and the owners were flexible for checking-in and checking-out. I honestly can’t think of anything I would change or improve.

We chose Bear Hug Lodge for our first visit to Big Bear Lake because of the size and description we read on VRBO and it did not disappoint. Three good size bedrooms and a separate ground floor suite made for plenty of space for 5 adults and three kids. The suite had a futon which we pulled out for one of the kids so everyone had plenty of space and could sleep on their own schedule without others disturbing them. Common spaces included open concept kitchen/diner-living room, large game room with lots of games including vintage electronic games (The kids loved pac-man and space invaders) and a work out room with fitness equipment but which we used mainly for tumbling and yoga on the padded floor. There were even Washer/Dryer facilities on each floor. Hot Tub in moderately spacious backyard was a real plus. Great for sore backs after hiking or morning coffee. House was close to everything (less than 5 min drive to shops, restaurants, lake and trails). Contact with the managers was easy and instructions were clear and easy to follow. We had a great time and would highly recommend to anyone. Much better than the much higher priced places right on the lake.

The bedroom layout was great for our two families and grandparents. Close proximity to the town for skiing and winter sports. We enjoyed the hot tub, games in the basement, and fireplace.

I love the game room was awesome friends and family gathered around a pool table. Definitely need to return. Very clean property and beautiful

Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, everything worked and as represented. Definitely would stay here again, really good contact with owner/mgr.

We had a lovely time here. There was ample space for our family. The kids loved the game room. The adults loved the quiet! Ed was very helpful with suggestions for activities and restaurants and stayed in touch with us. The hot tub was wonderful especially since you can't swim in the lake at this time. Thank you!

We had three families ages 1 - 67 and this lodge had all the amenities needed for everyone with plenty of space to spread out. The game room was a blessing for our snowed in day. The grandkids enjoyed the “cub den” and there was even a baby gate to keep the toddler safe upstairs. We all had fun counting the impressive number of bears inside and out! The adults made good use of the pool table in the game room and the jacuzzi in the snow! When we were able to venture out and about, the Village was a short drive away. Our hosts, Ed and Pam, were very friendly and attentive and provided a wealth of information and activity ideas during our stay. We look forward to the opportunity to book this property for our next winter family gathering!!🥰🧸☃️

This cabin was roomy and cozy. All updated appliances with necessary cookware. We used the grill to make burgers and the spa was huge! The guys spent most of their time in the game room. The beds were comfortable and all showers had great water pressure. Location was super ideal with 8 min walking distance to snow play and you can take a bus to the village from there. Definitely would reccomend!

Had a great time at Big Bear for a long weekend of snowboarding with friends. The cabin was a big factor to the fun we had. The property was amazing and overall better then the other previous cabins I have stayed at in Big Bear. This is my favorite cabin as it had all the amenities we were looking for while being close to all the side activities we’re doing while at at Big Bear. Ed and Pam were also very responsive with any questions we had and were kind enough to allow us to a little early check-in after snowboarding. I will definitely be booking this property again if it is available for future bookings.

The home is super cute with hand painted pictures on the walls throughout and new wood cabinets in the kitchen. It was kid friendly and had a baby gate and high chair. This property is close to the tubing park, but we had more fun in the driveway and backyard sledding, making snowmen and snowball fighting. Don't forget your swimsuits for a hot jacuzzi on a cold winter day...Lots of fun family memories were made. Thank you Pete, Loretta, Ed and Pam!

The property was better than listed. Cozy, warm and welcoming. The house is clean and well stocked. Our family was able to spend quality time together over the New Years weekend and we will forever cherish these memories.

Great experience all around. Easy check-in, nice house and great amenities for a family or group. Game room and hot tub were big pluses for our group. Ed went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable and everything we needed.

My husband wanted to go for Oktoberfest to celebrate his 40th birthday. This location was so close to the to the convention center and lots of shops and local restaurants. It was hard to see on the pictures but it is a very big house with lots of places to hang as a family but also get away if needed. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Suggestions: bring olive oil if you need it for cooking, bring a coffee pot if you like coffee like we do (they have the kurig and a 5 cup pot),stairwell is narrow and steep but they have a safety gate, the living room lighting is dim. Those are such small things and the good outweighed the small improvements. We will definitely consider using this cabin again. they kids loved hanging out in the game room downstairs and kept them off of the screens. :)
