The location was perfect. We could walk to everyplace we wanted to go except for the Battlefield proper. However, if you are a light sleeper, this wouldn't be the best fit for you. The bedrooms are on the Baltimore street side. We wore ourselves out during the day so sleeping was not an issue. We will stay here again. Would suggest fixing the ceiling tiles in the bathroom. Took us 20 minutes to convince one of our party there wasn't a camera hidden in one of the holes :-)

This place is a great place to stay at. With free parking in the back of the home and short walks to see the town. It was in close proximity short drive to the battlefield. My husband, sister in law, and I loved staying at this home.

First, let’s start with the positive. The location is AAA+: walking distance to tours, restaurants, diners, pubs, ice cream & shops. The location couldn’t have been better. Also, having grown up in an 150yo house, & trained as an architect, I enjoy the idiosyncrasies of old buildings. This is an old house & it has its quarks & charm. The kitchen was clean & well appointed. It is better equipped than most VRBO/rent properties I’ve stayed in. Everything worked, more or less, & the parking/porch were much appreciated. Now, for the not so good. The floors weren’t very clean. We found bits of cookie & wrappers underneath the couches in the livingroom. The toilet seat was poorly attached & the toilet wasn’t properly bolted to the floor. It felt like it could fall over at any time. Then there was the privacy issue. Since the two bedrooms are layed out like a railroad apartment, it would’ve helped if there was at least a curtain over the glass doors so you could changed in private. I was with my family, but if your partner/flatmate wanted privacy it would be impossible. Next, the Unit has three doors to the interior corridor. This means when the other tenants are up, you are up; day & night. Finally, it needs to be maintained. The broken plastic mini-blinds, burned out bulbs & zero decoration (art, etc) make the interior feel like a college apartment, complete with inexpensive linens/towels. I would stay here again, but the price is fairly high for this level

Location...location...location. This 2nd floor unit is clean, functional and is right in the middle of where you would want to be. Parking was easy. Please be aware that it is difficult for 6 people to sleep here; there is one bedroom with a pass through to a small room with a bunk bed. Doors have glass panes, so the are not private. Persons five and six will need to sleep on a couch and love seat. Also, know that this is not an attractive, well decorated place to relax. It is simply a clean, safe place to put your feet up after a full day in Gettysburg. We hope to be back!

Nice place, better than getting a hotel room and well-priced. Just a couple blocks off the roundabout at the heart of downtown Gettysburg, has its own private parking included, great for ease of coming and going around town for shopping, dining, etc. Responsive owners, no problems. Definitely recommend.

Perfect location! A few issues. We rented both the first and second floor units. First floor is a studio which we knew abt. No real bedroom, all sleep in one room, which was fine bc we expected it. Second floor is listed as a “2” bedroom. I disagree fully. The first bedroom w/queen is off of living room, with a fully open glass door. No privacy. Then this “second” bedroom is IN AND THROUGH, the first one with another fully glass door. This is not a bedroom it’s a closet or sitting room. Fine if with small kids, but even still there’s absolutely no privacy. Beds were awful. On first floor, in queen bed, the first night our backs hurt so bad we had to go out and get an egg crate mattress cover. Helped a little but not much. Pillows are all so flat also had to buy a decent one. Lock in rear downstairs unit with code DOES NOT lock at all. You can literally just push it in. Although this leads to a locked unit door still did not feel ok about it. Parking was good both. Kitchens were stocked with enough equipment to have a meal. AC worked great.

This property is very well located. 2B/1B. AC works well. Front door knob needs fixed.

We were very pleased with this unit. Property manager was always quick to respond to my questions. The unit was roomy. We didn’t spend much time in it as were sightseeing and it was only a 2 night stay.

This location is perfectly situated within walking distance of everything in downtown Gettysburg. It’s spacious, but you’ll need to get creative with sitting in living room if you have more than 5. Dining area can seat 7 though. Be watchful—doesn’t sleep 6. The listing said sleeps 6 people with 1 bed, and 2x bunk beds. After I reserved it (and without being updated by owner or VRBO) the listing removed a bunk bed but still said sleeps 6. Couch didn’t turn into a bed and no linens for anymore than 4 people. We were lucky that 2 of our 6 were kids and we crammed them in the beds where we could, but it wasn’t an optimal sleep situation. Keep it at 4 MAX for sleeping if booking this. Also, only 4 bath towels on hand for a listing for 6 people. As noted in another comment, street sounds can be loud at times (even jarring if a large motorcycle rolls through). Not an issue for us, but be aware if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, very satisfied. Staying in a charming historical building has its trade offs but the location is well worth it to spend some time in the town. Owner was very communicative and tried to help out with the 6 vs 4 sleeping situation. If they fix the listing to say sleeps 4, or if they add a bed and towels to accommodate 6, then no one should be surprised upon arrival. Now, go see Gettysburg!

Great location. Can walk anywhere downtown, close to a lot of shops, restaurants and bars. Apartment itself was very clean and spacious. Nice deck. Great place to stay if you want to get away from the extreme commercialization of Steinwehr Ave.

Parking behind the unit was very helpful to bring in groceries and keep our car safe, not counting the police station just across the parking lot. All-in-all it was just right for our needs.

What a perfect location for a trip back to the civil war!! What could be better than staying in an actual building that was there during that time! Walking distance to nearly everything in the town of Gettysburg. My boys and I had the most memorable experiences in the wonder apartment.

My group of four stayed here for a Memorial Day weekend soccer tournament. The apartment is conveniently located downtown. The property owners were super responsive. We had a couple of questions during our stay, and they got back to us very quickly. Check in was simple. The space was cozy, with plenty of room for our group of four to relax at the end of the day. The kitchen wasn't overloaded, but had plenty of supplies for our long weekend. There is a grocery story within 1/3 of a mile for everything you need. There are a ton of shops within walking distance of the apartment. There was plenty of dining space for our group. The bedrooms are adjacent to each other, with a door with windows between. This door could use a curtain or covering to provide a bit more privacy. It is a work in progress as a rental, as it could have used some extra towels and linens, and privacy curtains between the bedrooms. Be ready for noise from the street as well, as it is along a busy street downtown. You won't be overwhelmed with fanciness here, but it was clean, comfortable and convenient. I get the impression that the owners are still upgrading the space as well, so it will only improve as time goes on. Based on my interactions with them, it is clear they want the best experience possible for the renter. I would not hesitate to stay here again. If a 4.5 star rating was an option, I'd go with that.
