The home itself is beautiful and there was plenty of space inside for everyone. Unfortunately the outside space wasn't too usable because of the mosquitoes after the rain, and when it was sunny, it was sweltering on the patio. Of course, we can't control the weather but a bug zapper and some shade on the back porch would have let us enjoy the entire property.
The kitchen supplies could use some updates. We had to be creative with cooking and storing food.
The television didn't really work well and we really had to jerryrig the technology to watch a movie.

Property needs some love. There were 2 coffee pots and both were broken. We did manage by purchasing a coffee pod at the store to get the Keurig to somewhat work. The bath tub upstairs would not hold water because the drain stopper is broken. Drains were slow to drain throughout the house. Trash was 3/4 full upon arrival and a critter was dumping the cans every night. By the time we left we were stacking trashbags in the cellar. Not sure if the gas grill was for us to use but there was no gas, not even a propane bottle to go fill. The deck was a little more run down than the first time we stayed there. The lot next door was grown up. We found a volleyball/badminton net covered up out there. We did stand it up and mowed the grass with the manual reel mower we found in the basement. One of the living room chairs was missing the seat cushion, limiting seating for 8 people. Just very disappointing the condition of things for the price we paid. We chose this location because of how nice it was a few years back when we stayed and brought our whole family to enjoy it with us this time. Disappointed in the upkeep of the property. The heating system wasn't operating when we arrived. We were given portable heaters by the property manager after 10 P.M. They only raised the inside temperature to the mid-60's. We were without hot water until 4 P.M. until we were relocated. We were not offered adequate compensation for these missing living necessities and we were relocated to a house of lesser value and not compensated for the difference, despite our numerous complaints. Needless to say, we are very unhappy with Vacasa.

Very clean, well furnished and right between Newagen and the country store. About 3 miles feom boothbay. Private. The only suggestion I have is to post the wifi acces information somewhere in the home. We had a great stay.

We expected this house to be amazing and some aspects are good but it falls down in a number of ways. Location is great, we love Southport Island. The general store (pizzas and delicious baked goods here) and beach are a short walk away. The house was a good size for our family group of five adults and one teen. Furnishings and decor are good quality. However, it is let down in a number of details, including cleanliness, outdoor area and guest information, which we have reported to Vacasa. Overall it did not feel worth the high price paid.

From the moment I walked in, I wanted to keep this house! We were in Maine for a wedding and having our own space and room to move around was wonderful! It was close to the wedding location and not far of a drive to other places we needed to be. Would love to have the opportunity to stay here again in the future!! You won't regret booking this property! ♥

Great place. One of the better houses I've stayed in, clean, well maintained, spacious, with a kitchen equipped with everything and more. The house itself is isolated in the heart of a grove but close to everything you want to do in the area. I would love to come back.

We had a wonderful time. This is a wonderful house for relaxing on a vacation. The woods around it were fun to explore. I look forward to another Maine adventure when I will hopefully be able to get this house again.

Spacious, clean. Nice deck although it was rainy/overcast so we couldn't really use it. Had some outdoor games we could bring outside. Very easy checking and out and was just a short drive to boothbay.

This lovely house allowed us to stay near family during the Winter Holidays. And gave us a beautiful secluded space to relax, refresh and enjoy. It was spacious, welcoming and in excellent condition. The grounds are beautiful and the area is easy to walk and the nearby shore is beautiful.

Turns out that there wasn’t central air, just a portable air conditioning unit in the closet and three fans. It would be nice if we had been aware of that before booking.

Nice getaway off season
Was pleasantly surprised with the location and size of the property. Basically looked like the online photos.
A few things for improvement would be a revamping of the pots as some of them were beyond their use. Also, the mattresses in the bunk room and one of the other bedrooms need an update.
Other than that, the home was a perfect size for our two families- 8 people in total. We would definitely rent this home again!
