The house was everything we hoped it would be and more! The views of the beach were amazing from all the balconies and beach access was right across the walkway. The rooftop deck provided even more gorgeous views and the pool at the house was great for the kids during the day and adults at night :-) It was our first time on North Captiva and we would definitely go back!

The house was just as it was listed and accommodated our large group. The beach is so close to the house. It was nice to be able to get up in the morning and walk down to the beach to look for shells. Plenty of refrigerator space - we had a little bit of a hard time keeping up with ice in the freezer until we discovered an ice maker in the bottom level basement bathroom closet. They put in a new dishwasher while we were there. The view of the gulf is amazing! Sunset is the best! The hardest part of this vacation is planning for food and beverages. They will do grocery delivery while you are there so you don’t have to order everything before you go, but still need to plan ahead because it will take some time to get more delivered. If you end up buying any food/beverage on the island, it is much more expensive and there is not a big selection of items. When ordering groceries, if you are particular about brands, make sure to list a “backup” item so if the one you requested is out of stock you can get a replacement that works for you. Over all- an amazing vacation. Definitely a house we would stay in again. 😊

Wonderful house for a family vacation at the beach with gorgeous views, but privacy, only yards from beach with private pool, and easy access to large club pool, kayaks, and tennis. Absolutely the best sunsets!

Ally, Sean and the team at Shally’s were great, they were very responsive to anything that we needed. The house was awesome, in a great location, walkable to the island club and right across from beach access. Could not have asked for a better place to stay for our first time on the Island. Will definitely do it again!

This house was perfect for our family of 8 adults and 7 little ones under the age of 5. The bedrooms and living area were spacious, and Ally provided the needed cribs and high chairs. The pool was a big hit with everyone and the beach was right across the “street”. The kitchen was well stocked with spices. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

House was good,location even better! My grandkids had a blast and want to come back,which we probably will! The golf carts were horrible, one had no brakes and the other was rusty! Ordering the food was a smooth process! Bob!

We had a wonderful time. It was me and my husband, my in- laws, our 2 teenage kids and their girlfriends. The house was great and the location was amazing. My husband and I had the bedroom upstairs. The view was absolutely spectacular!!! Sean and Ally were there to so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!! The only thing we would suggest is lights by the pool area so people could play ping pong and swim at night. We checked all the lights but nothing came on. We did not inquire about it. We kept meaning to email and ask, but kept forgetting. It obviously didn’t keep us from having fun!! 😀😀

Over all pretty good. Some things could be in better condition for the cost you pay.

Beautiful, well-maintained home with spectacular sunsets! Loved all the decks - top with lots of sun, middle with shade and beautiful view, sunny pool deck out of the wind. Walked the beach several times a day and saw dolphins and tortoises. Nice to have the Captiva Island Club bikes and kayaks and the state park to walk and bike in.

This place is perfect for a large group wanting easy beach access to a beautiful get-away-from-it-all destination. The beach was just on the other side of the road facing west and the sunsets were spectacular. Getting there is kind of a logistical maze, but Sean & Ally (the property managers) made everything as easy as possible. We paid a pretty substantial upcharge to them to have groceries delivered and put away in the house before we arrived - but it was worth it not to have to worry about it. We ordered groceries/seafood a couple more times during the week, and it was a pretty easy process. There are 4 bedrooms with bathrooms on the 1st floor (2nd floor since house on stilts), the kitchen/living room/dining room are on the 2nd floor (3rd floor) and then there is a 5th bedroom on the top floor (4th floor). A screened-in deck off the living room help keep the no-see-ums at bay. However, the best views were on the top floor deck. It wasn't screened in, but a cardinal visited every morning and a slight breeze kept the bugs to a minimum. I would remove the crib the bedroom with twin beds unless the group has a baby. Sleeping in a room with a crib was off-putting. The kitchen was perfect for a large group and having the 2 refrigerators was a definite plus. Having the pool was great. We would hit the beach in the morning and the pool in the late afternoon before cocktails on the deck to watch the sunset. We were pretty self-contained and since it was a family trip during COVID, that worked out perfectly. It would be nice if there was a dvd player, but we hooked up a laptop and streamed movies through the TV. Wifi was okay. This isn't the place to go if you are looking for nightlife and partying. Some maintenance would make the place much nicer - a screen door was torn and off the slider, a lamp was broken on the deck, some of the beds should be replaced, golf carts are pretty old, new beach umbrellas, kitchen ware could be updated (knives sharpened, new utensils) and there was a leak in the living room. However, none of these were enough to take away our enjoyment of the house or the area. I would absolutely recommend this place to a friend.

Location is great. The kitchen is well stocked but needs cookie sheets n pizza pans. Beds are not comfortable. The mattresses, sheets and pillows need to be replaced. Some of the Towels are also very worn. House has a great view and my family loved the beach. Tortuga property managers were very good to work with.

Beautiful location just steps to the beach or swim in the pool on the property! We were well taken care of by Beulah. She meets you at the dock and escorts you to the house and gives you the tour of where to find what you need. The house was equipped with everything you we needed to make it an xtra special family getaway! We enjoyed the sunrise walks on the ocean and sunsets views on the balcony! Thanks and hope to visit again one day!

Beautiful home in great location. Views are wonderful. Furnishing and finishes not up to the quality of home, location, and views. We had to tighten dining room chair legs. South master bedroom needs a king bed, not queen. More end tables and nicer decor and finishes would improve the use and feel of the home. Windows and golf carts need to be washed, but all else was clean and neat.

This is our 4th trip to North Captiva and this home is absolutely the best one we've stayed in. It is beautiful and was perfect for our family get together which included 10 adults and 2 young children. We loved the spacious kitchen, dining and living areas. Sleeping was very comfortable, views of the Gulf sunsets breathtaking, and we enjoyed beaching, swimming, playing corn hole, and making puzzles together. The heated pool was great on the cooler days. Tom, our property manager was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. We are already planning a return trip next year. We recommend staying here.

Everything went as smooth as possible on our stay. Working with Tom was great, he was waiting at the dock for us when we arrived. Grocery process was no issue. Property was perfect location with perfect views. No issues or complaints here. Stayed with extended family of 11 and the rooms are divided up nicely and all clean! View from the main floors are perfect of the beach and water. Furniture was adequate and updated. Beach chairs could use some repair but hard to complain. Pool is perfect for younger kids and very clean.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was amazing for our group of 6 adults and 4 kids. The location is perfect. Across the street from one of the only public beaches and a short golf cart ride to everything else. You can watch the sunrise from one side and the sunset from the other. Free access to the Club’s amenities made our stay very affordable. We could use their kayaks, bikes, tennis equipment, and their 2 pools and hot tub for free. The Club’s equipment could use some updating, but the price was right. The only thing we rented was fishing equipment from Boats and Fun. My 7 year old caught a small shark, a puffer fish, and many cat fish and was in heaven! Walking the beach at sunrise for newly deposited sand dollars was one of our favorite activities. And the shelling is amazing. The owner was wonderful and very accessible to us at anytime. We missed our ferry to the island and he happily adjusted our arrival time/luggage assistance. We had an issue with the dryer and he sent maintenance in a timely manner. The weather was 60-74 during our stay. Not warm enough to swim in the ocean, but the pools are heated and we spent lots of time there. The house provided pool toys, sand toys, and beach chairs. We underestimated the size of the island’s grocery store - it is TINY and expensive- so when you pick up groceries on the mainland on your way to the island, keep that in mind. Overall, we loved our stay and would highly recommend this house!

We just finished a wonderful five nights at Captiva Beach Sunset. My family, a group of 11 in total, had an amazing time! The house was everything it was said to be and more- the location next to the beach was perfect and we enjoyed both the pool and Gulf often! Tom and Beulah were both so helpful prior to our trip- answering my many questions as we prepared for this big adventure. So thankful for both of them! Tom went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed - even going so far as to use his own tools and time to open up a coconut so our curious kids could see what was inside. Our family has made lifelong memories here and hope that others have the same great tropical adventures on North Captiva that we did!

There were 13 of us (7 adults; 6 kids) for a 5-night family reunion. The location was amazing. Bring sandals as the beach is mostly tiny, sharp shells but you can walk to bigger sandy areas. Tom was an incredibly responsive property manager. We had a coull ppl evissues and he took care of fixing themselves ASAP. There are some things in the house that are getting a little old and could use replacement (living room furniture, screens on top level sliding doors don’t work, golf carts, left refrigerator does not close properly without manual adjustment) but everything is operational and our family had a fantastic time. The beauty of having no cars on the island truly makes this ideal for kids and completely relaxing from a noise standpoint. We also lucked into the running of the annual Holiday 5K which was a blast. Thanks so much for the great time. And book your ferry reservations early!!! We waited until 2 weeks ahead and almost. Oil SBR get a ride on the day we wanted.

Our family enjoyed a week long stay at Captiva Beach Sunset for Fall Break. The house was spacious, and easily accommodated our extended family (8 adults and 4 kids total). Both property managers were great to work with, and were happy to answer any questions. As far as the house, it came stocked with plenty of gear (chairs, umbrellas, and towels for the beach; noodles and tubes for the pool; and all the kitchen basics for cooking meals). The kids loved exploring the island, and seeing all the wildlife (lizards, turtle and manatees!). Our family also enjoyed going back and forth between the pool and beach (just a brief walk from the house). The only complaint (and nothing related to the house)...be prepared to spray bug spray if you want to hit the beach at sunrise/sunset, there are definitely "no see ums" around.

View amazing. Close to excellent shelling. Loved the open concept. So nice to cook and bake with everyone chatting and visiting. The house was very clean. In the ocean for hours then rinse sand off and jump in pool. Wonderful house and wonderful place.

Our 2 families had a fantastic stay at Captiva Beach Sunset! The location is awesome - perfect views! There was plenty of space for 4 adults and 7 children. The pool on location was great after a few hours at the beach. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and this one had every amenity you could think of. The kitchen is stocked with every possible need, and 2 refrigerators were key for our 2 week stay and big clan. I was also very impressed with how well maintained and clean this big beach house was! The team we worked with - Sarah, Tom and Beulah - were so helpful and responsive. Our 5 year old is still talking about his friend, Mr Tom :). We can’t wait to come back next year!

We had a wonderful view of the gulf as well as a small pool which was perfect for our younger grandchildren. It was especially nice to have the use of three golf carts and access to the Island Club pool and facilities, which are lovely. We had several issues with the hot water heater and one with the water in general but these were immediately taken care of. We had seven adults and seven children in residence, so both were taxed to the limit I am sure. We would definitely rent this property again.

We loved the home and the location. The home is beautiful and so close to the beach. The views from this home is exceptional, we would stay here again. Tom the property manager was great, he met when we arrived and checked in with during our stay. We did have a problem with one of the gulf carts, called him and we got it fixed in no time. He is truly an asset with this home.

We had 6 adults and 5 children stay over the New Year holiday. Easy access to the house from the marina and I would recommend Boats and Fun for your ferry option due to their flexibility. We had a delayed flight and lost bags, but we ended up not missing our scheduled departure. The house is large, with plenty of room to move around. Fit and finish could have been better for the price, but not a true complaint. We ran out of propane after using the grill and back ups were empty, with it just being bad luck that it was New Years and the club wasn’t open to finish up grilling (we made it work with the oven!). I highly recommend the property and the property manager (Tom) was very kind and accommodating!

My family and I enjoyed spending Christmas on N. Captiva Island. The property floorplan was very accommodating for our group which consisted of a wide range of ages. The house location was optimal for beach access. The property managers were very responsive and helpful.

We had a wonderful time at Captiva Beach Sunset over Thanksgiving. Our family group consisted of 8 adults and 4 children. It would be difficult to add anything to the many positive comments already posted in other reviews for this property. The children’s play area, the pool, the adjoining beach, the sunrise/sunset, and quietness were the highlights of our visit. Since the house is on an island with limited supplies, we were very impressed with how well the house was stocked with necessities. Having owned our own oceanfront, island property for 15 years, we appreciate the amount of work needed to maintain this house, its grounds, and outdoor features. We were not disappointed and were quite impressed. Without question, we would rent this property again when returning to North Captiva.
